Skye's POV
Uh oh, this won't be good. I threw a quick glance at Marshall and saw him blush. I turned and saw Everest slightly pink. She had a small smile, but then it quickly changed to anger.

"What!?" Everest shot up. She quickly shot out of her chair and stood in front of her desk. "Ms. Villano," Everest said, calming down a bit. "Do I really have to work with him!?" She said, pointing at Marshall.

"Everest, please take a seat," Ms. Villano said, glancing up from her paper.

"I would love to take a seat," Everest said, all sweetly. She picked up her chair and lifted it over her head. She was just about to pound Marshall down, but Ms. Villano scampered over and stood between the two.

"Everest, this is unacceptable behavior!" Ms. Villano yelled. Everyone was shocked. Ms. Villano was one of those teachers with sweet voices and never raised their voice, let alone shout. "Report to the principal's office now!" Everest scoffed and picked up her bookbag. She ran out of the room and slammed the door shut. The room was silent. "My apologize, Marshall. I'll speak to you after class."

"She really wants to work with ya," I heard Hunter whisper over to Marshall with a laugh. I looked over to my left to look at Zuma and Rocky, who was also facing me. Rocky sat in front of Zuma, so he had to turn around. We all just looked at each other, not knowing what to do or think.

Everest's POV
Why am I acting this way? I know I hate him, but-is it that much? Or maybe I-no, I don't. I walked alone in the hallway and made my way to the principal's office. I passed the gym, auditorium, and nurse's office. Almost there. I heard distant footsteps making their way towards me from behind. I guess it's prob'ly a teacher to see if I had a hall pass, which I didn't. I felt a hand place down on my shoulder. It didn't feel big, like a teacher's, but it also didn't feel like a hand I recognized like Zuma, Skye, or Rocky's. Maybe it was Ella or Rubble. Neither of them are in History with me, so they don't know what happened. I turned around to face whoever it was. It was Marshall. I didn't expect him to be the one, but at the same time, I did.

"What'd you want?" I asked, rolling my eyes.

"Just wanna talk," Marshall reasoned.

"About?"

"You...and me. Like w-why do you hate me so much?" I began to think and process that question in my head. Why did I? Thinking it through, I don't have a reason to. I didn't respond to his question. "Hello?" He said, waving his hand in front of my face. I couldn't help but roll my eyes a second time. "What's your problem?"

"Look," I began. "Forget about this. There's no point in finding out if we're gonna work together anyway. Okay?" I continued my trip to the principal's office, leaving him alone in the halls.

Skye's POV
"Wonder what happened to Everest," I sighed.

"Eh, nothing that doesn't happen often," Zuma shrugged.

"So where you're guys meeting up?" I asked Zuma and Rocky as the last bell rang.

"My place," Zuma responded. "You?"

"I dunno," I sighed. "I haven't talked to him about it. I'll go right now. Know where he is?"

"Prob'ly getting ready for football," Rocky shrugged.

"Of course, thanks," I said, running off. I ran off to search for him when I saw Ella, Sweetie, Maggie, and Stella sitting on the gym bleachers. Oh God, I forgot about cheerleading. I turned around to walk out again when Ella spotted me and called out my name. Great.

"Skye!" Ella called. "Over here!" I would act like I didn't hear her but she jogged up to me.

"Oh, hey, Ella," I smiled.
