Skye's POV
My heart pounded so loud that it blocked me from hearing anything else. I was not ready to get in trouble. I hate adults giving lectures to students or their own kids. Like, we get it. You don't need to rub our mistakes in our faces. Rubble looked like he was going to faint. He can't stand the feeling of disappointment, and that's the first thing an adult begins with when it comes to lectures and mistakes. Everest kept a straight face, being used to getting in trouble. I hope it's either a chill teacher or a janitor. I wouldn't like getting into any trouble with the principal or the teachers that yell for no reason. No one seemed to be in the mood to look back, so I guess I had to. I slowly turned around and saw more than one person. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw it wasn't any type of adult.

"Chase, Max, Marshall, what the heck," I said, calming down. After hearing me, everyone else looked confused as they turned and saw the three guys standing in front of us with suspicious looks. Everyone's expressions changed from worried, to relieved, to perplexed.

"What are you doing here?" Zuma asked.

"We were going to ask the same thing," Chase stated as he folded his arms over his chest. It was pretty hard not to laugh at the way the three looked.

"You scared the sweet Jesus outta me," Rubble heavily breathed. And with that, everyone broke out with laughter until Ella shushed us all, reminding us we weren't supposed to be where we were. The worst part, the office was about five doors down. If anything, we stood in front of the gym and the cafeteria was close by.

"Alright, what'd you want?" Everest questioned.

"We want to know why you guys are here," Marshall answered.

"Why?" I queried.

"Curiosity," Max replied.

"Listen, this is none of your business," Everest spoke up. "Just go home, and we'll all be good."

"But-" Marshall said, cutting himself off as we all heard footstep going down the stairs.

"Did ya bring any friends?" Ella sarcastically asked.

"We don't know who that is," Marshall honestly spoke.

"Well, hide!" Zuma whisper shouted. We all looked around us and then at each other. Where do we go? Zuma opened a classroom door and ran into room 214 with Ella and Rubble behind him. I ran over to the gym door and turned the knob. The door flew open as I ran in with Everest, Tuck, Marshall, Max, and Chase on my heels. I stopped when I saw three people united in the gym. One sat on the floor tying their soccer shoes, the other was practicing some stretches, and the last one shocked me. He was wearing sweats and was shirtless as he did pull-ups on the bars the football team uses to gain upper body strength.

"Rocky?"

"Skye? Everest?"

Zuma's POV
"Where do we go?" Ella asked as we walked into the nurse's office.

"The chances of someone walking in are one in a million," I chuckled. "As long as they don't see us from the window, we'll be fine. When they walk away, we'll get out and meet up with the others."

"I think they're coming," Rubble warned as he looked away from the door's window."

"Well, that's great," I sarcastically smiled.

"Hide!" Rubble whisper shouted.

"Where?" Ella questioned.

"Anywhere!" I whisper shouted. "Just hide!" Rubble ran into the nurse's bathroom, Ella ran over to the closet, and I ran and slipped under the desk. Just as I got comfortable, I heard the door open and a muffled voice.

"I just needed to head over to the office," the nurse spoke into her phone. "I dropped off some papers, and I'm heading out." I let out a quiet sigh of relief as I heard the nurse approach. "Why don't you do it? Ugh, fine, fine, I'll do it right now." Just as that was said, the nurse sat on her chair and tucked her feet under her desk. Her feet were centimeters away from my side. If I moved an inch, we would touch. "Is the file all you want? Okay, yes, I'm logging into my email right now."

My thoughts interrupted what was going on around me. My phone wasn't on mute. One call or even a single message could set it off. I need to mute it. But how can I do that without moving? I began to worry about Rubble and Ella. Were their phones muted? If they weren't, their phones could get set off too. Even if I pulled out my phone without touching the nurse, was sending a message to them worth the risk? What if I did, and their phones went off? We'd be doomed. I slowly inched my hand to my side and slowly slipped my phone out of my pocket. I cautiously grabbed it and successfully did it without dropping it or touching the nurse. I went to the side of my phone and muted it. Thank goodness.

"Alright, I sent it," the nurse informed whoever she was talking to. "Yes, yes, yes, I'm sure." She quickly got up and pulled out her bag. I slowly stretched a little. Hiding under that cramped desk wasn't the best idea. Rubble probably chose the best hiding spot. An entire bathroom to himself. "The mall? I'm going to be heading out, and I'll meet you there. Yes. Okay. Alright, bye." The nurse hung up and picked up her bag and keys. Just as I thought we were safe, I heard a phone chime from a distance, and I felt my phone vibrate. No! One thing for sure, the phone chime wasn't the nurse's. I looked at my phone and saw Skye texted.

Skye: We found Rocky!

Thank goodness for that! But we now had bigger issues. I felt the nurse slowly pace around the room. The phone chime sounded like it came from the bathroom. I know for a fact it was Rubble's since his phone chime is the sound of a tune from Apollo. I slowly peeked over the side of the desk and saw the nurse headed for the bathroom. Out of nowhere, I heard something fall from the far end of the room. I saw Ella quickly run and head for the door. I spotted a broom on the ground close to the closet. I heard the main door to get into the office close.

"Who's there?" The nurse asked. The nurse looked around and after a while, gave up. "Maybe it's just me." She grabbed her bag and keys and headed for the door. I heard the door close and the lock click. I slowly crawled out from under the desk as Rubble slowly opened the door of the bathroom. I peeked over and saw no sign of the nurse in the office at all.

"You can come out," I informed Rubble.

"That was close," Rubble stated as he slowly walked out of the dark bathroom.
