Hey guys!!! I hope everyone is having a fantastic day. I just wanted to apologize for like the millionth time for not updating. I'm currently on spring break from school. U would think that means more writing time for me but it's the complete opposite. I usually write my chapters in school and update the chapters later during the day. But with no school, I've been out and about. So here's chapter 45. Enjoy😜
Skye's POV
"So?" Mr. Pobuta asked as he sat back. "What do you have to say about that?""That's a terrible angle," Everest blabbed.
"Everest, please," Mr. Pobuta paused. "Did you guys think you weren't going to get caught?"
"I mean..." Everest began.
"We didn't really have that in mind," I lied. "And our intentions weren't bad. We were just looking for a friend."
"In the building when school isn't in session?"
"Yes," I responded.
"Okay, then, if your intentions weren't bad, what's this?" He clicked on another recording, and it showed us all with the nurse, a little before Ella and I tossed everyone over the fence. "Wait a minute," he paused. "Who's that?"
"That's Hunter," Everest rolled her eyes.
"It doesn't look like he's here," Mr. Pobuta said as he looked at us. "He was in on whatever "this" is." Mr. Pobuta turned and reached out for the microphone used to make announcements around the school. "Hunter, please report to the main office, I repeat, Hunter, please report to the main office immediately. Thank you." As the principal made the announcement, we all began to softly laugh and snicker.
"That was offensive," Rocky said to Everest as he crossed his arms.
"What was offensive?" She asked.
"You calling me a nerd," Rocky bitterly said.
"I mean, you are."
"But you- ya know what, forget it."
"My parents are going to be so mad," Rubble worried.
"It'll be alright," I comforted. "If anything, I'll get my brother to sign your paper."
"I don't think that's a good idea," Rubble brought up.
"It's not but worth a shot," I thought.
"No," Rubble shook his head. "I rather have them know than hide it from them and have them figure out later." In just a little while, the secretary that spoke to us earlier opened the door as Hunter walked in. She closed the door behind him, leaving him awkwardly standing there.
"Uh, hi," he awkwardly waved.
"Wait, weren't you just here?" The principal asked. "You were the one who gave the names of these students."
"Uh, yes, sir," he told.
"And these are your friends?"
"Trust me, he's not a friend," Everest bitterly said as stood with her arms crossed.
"Not to you at least," Hunter argued.
"Oh, like I give a f-"
"Whatever," Mr. Pobuta interrupted as he spun in his chair. "Continuing." He hit play on the video. You were able to see us all standing in front of the main entrance of the building looking at the other side of the street, where Hunter came from. You could see Ella whispering to Everest and then turn to me. Whatever she said, I nodded.
*Video Playing*
"Scatter!" Ella shouted. The three of us ran to the fence with Zuma, Rubble, and Rocky at our heels. The others looked confused but followed. Ella and I stood next to the fence facing each other as Everest stood a little farther as she faced the fence."Go!" I ordered as Ella and I locked hands. Everest ran up to us and jumped on top of our hands. Ella and I lifted our hands as Everest jumped up and flipped. Everest flung up and got tossed to the other side.
*Video Pauses*"This is "nothing bad"?" Mr. Pobuta asked as he stared at me. "You guys could've gotten seriously hurt. I'm surprised you made it over the fence and didn't scrape yourselves at the top."
"We cheerlead," Ella explained.
"What about the boys?"
"I mean, we threw them and Everest caught them," Ella began. "They're fine."
"What if you didn't toss them high enough? What if Everest didn't catch them?"
"But we did."
"You teenagers don't know how to do anything else but talk back, huh?" Ella stood there with a confused expression.
"You know Rocky wouldn't do anything bad," Everest spoke up. "In fact, he's the friend we were searching for. Now, if you let us go, everything will be fine."
"Let you go?" Mr. Pobuta laughed. "You're the last person I'd just "let go". You don't understand what you all just did."
"Run away from the nurse?" Everest asked.
"Alright, one more word outta you Everest, and your suspended."
"Suspended!? For what?"
"Alright, congratulations," Mr. Pobuta said as he looked for a paper. "You really thought I wasn't going to do it. You've earned a suspension."
"What?" Everest questioned. "I did nothing wrong. You're just upset I'm right."
"Would you like me to extend the suspension?"
"For being right!?"
"Everest, just..." I began.
"Just what?" Everest said as she began to lose her patients. "I didn't do anything wrong."
"Listen, sir," Marshall spoke up. "None of us had the intentions of doing anything wrong. We all just followed Rocky into the building to see if he was fine. I'm not sure what's going on, but he's going through something really tough. We got thrown over the fence because we had an emergency to attend to, and no time was needed to be lost. If we told the nurse that, she wouldn't believe us." The room was silent. No one dared to say anything after, not even the principal. I can't believe Mashall said and did that. I mean, maybe the emergency part was a lie, but still.
"Okay, I didn't ask you to cover for your- girlfriend or whatever," Mr. Pobuta spoke.
"Woah, woah, woah," Everest paused. "He's not my boyfriend."
"Yet," I heard Chase foolishly whisper to Max.
"Are you guys sure you were attending an emergency, and it wasn't just you guys trying to get away?"
"Yes," Marshall lied.
"Well, alright then," Mr. Pobuta inhaled. "I will let you all go with no consequences, but if I figure out you guys lied..."
"Thank you so much," Chase thanked.
"You may all leave the slips here," he lightly smiled.
"So...does that mean I'm not suspended?" Everest said with a fake smile and plea.
"Fine, Everest," Mr. Pobuta sighed. "I'll lift the suspension."
"Thank the Lord," Everest cheered.
"You may all go now. Have a great rest of the day and please, stay outta trouble."
"Of course," I smiled. "Thank you, you too." We all walked out of the principal's office and made our way into the main office. We walked out and saw no more than five students in the halls heading to class.
"We missed presentations," Rocky pointed out.
"What class now?" Rubble asked.
"Physics," Rocky smiled.
"Ugh," Everest complained.
