2nd chapter of the day!!! Enjoy😜

Rocky's POV
I hung on the edge of the roof. The chances of me pulling myself up are 1 in a million. Instead of using my upper body strength, I'm going to fling my leg and pull myself up with half of my body. I started by slowly swaying and ended by having my left arm and left leg on the roof. Now I need to pull myself up. One wrong move, I roll down and end up breaking my right arm, possibly my leg too. Here goes nothing. I used every inch of strength I had and was able to pull myself up. I lied on the roof, panting hard. I slowly shifted and sat down. The view was amazing. I wonder why I never decided to get up here.

The sun was setting in the distance. Which reminded me I had to hurry. I wanted to keep enjoying the view, but maybe another time. I cautiously crawled up the roof and made it to my window. I'm glad I left it slightly opened. I squeezed my fingers and nudged the window open. I crawled in, knocking down a couple of novels and textbooks. I landed on the ground, which hurt real bad. I quickly got up, remembering what I was doing. If I get caught, I'm dead. I ran up to my nightstand and saw my phone sitting there, faced up. I grabbed it and saw missed calls and some messages. I stuffed my phone in my pocket and continued. I'll check everything later.

I started by grabbing my bookbag and looking inside. I went into my drawers and stuffed as many clothes as I could. I struggled to zip my bag shut, but I managed to. Since a storm is going to be coming, I'll need a big jacket. I rushed and pulled out my biggest jacket from my closet. A blanket and I'm heading out. I ran and looked around. I wasn't going to take a full-size blanket. Just a small one. I grabbed one that'll be fine. Time to go. I put on my bookbag and held my jacket and blanket in my hand.

"Wait," I said to myself. I reached out and grabbed my phone charger and headphones. I might not find a plug, but I never know. I climbed out my window and closed it tight behind me. No going back now. I looked down and thought to myself: How am I supposed to make it back? The plank I used before broke. I slowly slid my jacket and blanket down to the floor. I did the same with my bookbag. Might not be the smartest idea, but what choice did I have? Everything slid off the roof and fell on the ground. I pray my parents didn't see that. I crawled down as best as I could until I made it to the edge of the roof. Hopefully, my clothes, blanket, and jacket catch me more than my folders and books. My fingertips held on to the edge of the roof as my legs hung down.

"This is crazy, but here goes. One...two...three!" I loosened the grip I held on the roof and I fell. I fell flat on my bookbag. I expected it to hurt a lot more. I stood up but fell quickly fell back down. I had a cramp on my leg. "Fffff." It hurt badly. The cramp started to wear off and I got back up. The light wind hit me and caused me to shiver. I only had on a sweater. I bent down and picked up my jacket. I put it on and did the same with my bookbag. I grabbed my blanket and put my charger on the side pocket of my book bag. Time to find a place. I looked down at my watch and saw it was only 6. I walked out of my street and walked wherever my feet took me. I wanted to head over to my favorite place: the library. But going in there with everything I had would be a little weird.

I walked about two blocks when I saw I was headed to Zuma's street. I continued to walk and stopped when I saw Zuma's house. The curtains were closed. I speed-walked past his house, trying not to be seen. I didn't want to worry anyone more than I already did. Even though I didn't tell anyone what happened between my parents, I know Zuma had to have said something. No one knows that I've been banished from my house, though. I pulled out my phone and saw the messages were from a group chat and the missed calls were from my parents. I ignored everything and plugged in my headphones.

If you see him in the street, walking by
Himself, talking to himself, have pity...

Wow. Out of ALL songs. The route I was walking was very familiar. I was headed to school. I made it to the block where my school was. I walked past the building and noticed a cone between the door. Maybe I could sneak in. I could charge my phone, have shelter, and take a quick shower in the locker room. It was perfect. I looked around and noticed no one around. No one would be as crazy as I was to be wandering the streets. A strong gush of wind hit me hard. It was getting colder. I put on my hoodie and stuffed my hands in my pocket. I ran to the school door and got in. I looked around and saw all the lights on. I went up the stairs and peeked into the hallway. Empty.

I could probably go down to the basement. Students weren't allowed down there and I don't think there was a reason the principal would be there. I walked past the principal's office and noticed he was sitting at his desk typing. I ran past the door and down the hall. I stopped to open the door to the staircase. I ran down to the bottom. As I did, it got darker and darker. I slowed down when I couldn't see a thing. It was pitch black. I pulled out my phone and turned on the flashlight. There were lots of things down here. There were decorations used for the Halloween dance, Winter dance, and costumes used for the theatre club.

There wasn't much furniture. The basement was more like any other floor. There were a long hallway and several rooms. I wonder why this floor isn't used for other classes. I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard something. It sounded like a voice. It wasn't talking very clearly and it was soft, quiet. I wasn't even sure I heard it.

"Hello?"
