Chapter 28, 2nd chapter of the day! Enjoy😜

Everest's POV
"Someone," I stressed as I read. "But is it true?" Why does Stella want to know? This situation has nothing to do with her. I took a deep breath in and out. I'm going to be completely honest with myself. I do sometimes throw short glances at Marshall. But who's watching me? And why? No one has anything to do with this but me. Maybe Marshall too. In the beginning, I noticed him looking at me but never said anything to anyone. I basically ignored him. I also had doubts. I thought maybe I was imagining. After some time, my friends realized the same. After that, he just crept on me.

The only way to stop him was to look back at him. Once he saw me look at him, he looked away quickly, knowing I noticed. As we got "closer," I did start looking at him here and there. But that doesn't mean anything. We could be friends, and that's all. Or maybe not even friends. To get answers to everything, I needed to answer Stella, if it is her. I want to believe it's her. Be like Skye. Happy thoughts. Positive. I mean, think bout it, though. Why would Maggie want Stella's Instagram? Okay, scratch that. She would want it to text me and ask why we stare at each other. Since she likes Marshall, she wants him for her. But I'm not fighting for him. He could be hers' I don't care. I could care less.

I turned on my bed and laid on my back. I reached out for my phone and picked it up. I turned my phone on to the lock screen and saw Stella's messages still there. "Someone. But is it true?" Does Stella even talk like that? I haven't taken note of the way she talks. I mean, why would I? I'm not in her business, like some others.😒 I unlocked my phone and responded to her message.

Stella: Someone
Stella: But is it true?

Me: He stares at me
Me: I don't stare at him often
Me: Only to make him stop staring at me

Stella: I thought all of that was true

Me: No
Me: Y do u want to know???

Stella: I'll ask Marshall because he looks at you a lot
👇*Replied to you*👇
Me: Y do u want to know???
Stella: Yesss

👇*You replied*👇
Stella: I'll ask Marshall because he looks at you a lot
Me: Ask him what???
👇*You replied*👇
Stella: Yesss
Me: I'm not asking if u want to know. I'm asking y u want to know

👇*Replied to you*👇
Me: Ask him what???
Stella: Okay

This entire conversation is not even funny. Not clear either. Stella thinks that I'm asking if she wants to know, but I'm asking why she wants to know. Hopefully, this situation gets cleared out by tomorrow. It's not likely, but I'm gonna help myself believe that. I left my phone on my bed as I got up and made my way to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and noticed it was full. Guess my dad restocked or something. Looking at all this food makes me think of Rubble. Kinda funny. Hey, why don't I call him? I grabbed a juice pack and a bag of chips before heading back to my room. I closed the door behind me and jumped for my phone.

On second thought, lemme use my laptop. I pulled out my laptop to call Rubble. I clicked on his name and then clicked "facetime." My laptop rang as I waited for Rubble to answer. Right when I thought the call was going to lead me to his voicemail, he picked up.

"Hey," he greeted as he didn't have eye contact with the camera.

"Hey," I smiled back. "Whatcha doing?"

"A new ep of Apollo is on in two minutes," Rubble explained. "I'm waiting for it to start."

"Ah," I nodded. "Not surprised."

"But what 'bout you?"

"Not much," I said as I opened my chips. "Just confused. That's all."

"About?"

"Stella started texting me," I began.

"Oh," Rubble dryly said. "And?"

"Well, she's asking questions about Marshall and me. We stare at each other and whatever, but I don't even know."

"Do ya?" Rubble asked, giving me his undivided attention.

"To make him stop, yeah," I admitted.

"Okay, but do you sometimes stare at him?"

"Yeah, when we talk."

"Eve, ya know what I mean."

"Okay, fine, maybe."

"What!? Does Skye know? Zuma? Rocky? Ella? Anyone?"

"N-No," I stuttered. "Just you. So ya better not say anything."

"Now I feel special," Rubble beamed.

"I mean, you and Skye are my best friends. But, I don't know why I can't tell Skye like I can tell you."

"Some things are better to tell me, and others are better to tell Skye," Rubble declared.

"Yeah, I guess," I nervously trembled. "Can I tell you something else?" I'm going to dread saying this. I was now just accepting this to myself. It was going to be a nightmare telling Rubble.

"Sure, what is-? Wait!" He cut himself off. "Apollo is starting!"

"Uh, okay?" I confusingly answered.

"Can you rush?" He begged. "The theme song is playing. You can talk now. Sorry."

"It's fine. Well, I think I, uh. M-Might l-like M-Marshall." Rubble's smile and excitement about the new episode faded. He looked at me and then at his TV. He grabbed his remote and pressed a bunch of buttons. After a while, I didn't hear the TV in the background. Rubble placed the remote on the couch next to him and got up. He picked up his phone and turned the camera off. Right after that, he muted himself. There was no way I was able to hear or see him. With this, I'm not even sure he's there anymore. "Rubble?" I asked. I moved my mouse around, but that didn't do anything. "Rubble? Rubble, you there? Hello? Rubble? Rubble, where'd you g-?"

"I'm here, I'm here," Rubble responded as he turned his camera back on. "Sorry. I was in the living room, so I headed over to my room. This seems pretty private."

"Wait, b-but what about the new ep you wanted to watch?"

"That? No, it's okay. I can always watch it later. It should be on Demand or something."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, totally. This is way more important." I love Rubble (not like that). "So, spill. What's going on?"

"I don't even know," I admitted. "I don't know what I feel, when I started, or even why I feel it. I don't know anything. Marshall makes me feel different, but I don't know how. Or why!?" I fell back and laid on my bed with stress.

"At least you're admitting it," Rubble began. "I've never really liked anyone, let alone love."

"Wait," I quickly said, sitting back up, looking at Rubble. "You think I love Marshall?"

"That's what I'm guessing," Rubble shrugged. "You can't even explain what you feel. I heard falling in love makes you do stupid things."

"You think I do stupid things?" I questioned, begging for his answer.

"I mean, you yell at him a lot," Rubble brought up. "You're kinda mean too."

"Oh, God," I said, thinking it through. I am a little mean, I guess. I can't even act correctly. "I'm in love?"

"I guess so," Rubble confessed.

"Everest is in love!?" I heard a familiar voice call out. "With Marshall!?"

"Oh, no," I facepalmed.

"Is that-?" Rubble paused.

"Yes," I depressingly nodded. "Blizzard heard."
