Hey guysss back with another chapter after another long while. Enjoy😜

Skye's POV
"Stella, Maggie, Skye, Ella," Sweetie said as she went through the bus rows, checking everyone off on her clipboard. "Everest." Sweetie stopped in her tracks and turned back to look at all the girls and didn't see Everest anywhere. "Where's Everest?"

"Right here," Everest said as she made her way into the bus and fumbled into her seat.

"You're late," Sweetie flipped her hair.

"Listen, I made it," Everest rolled her eyes. I turned to the seat in the row next to me and saw Everest throw her bag on the empty seat next to her. She turned to me and let out an annoyed sigh as she knew I was staring at her.

"Care to explain about yesterday?" I asked, knowing she knew I was going to ask.

"Listen, man, you wanted me to come on this dumb trip, and I'm here," she said. "Don't make this worst than what it is."

"Wow," I sat back in my seat. "Not even that many hours with the Ruff Ruff Pack, and you're already picking up after them."

"You're right," Everest said as she sat upright and faced me. "I'm sorry that was a little rude of me. Ruder than the usual me."

"It's fine. But I'm being serious, what happened?"

"I don't know. They wanted me to go with them, and I didn't want to be in school. Just one of those things you do without thinking. Looking back, I realize how stupid it was. And I know I shouldn't have done that, but I just...I don't know."

"You could've gotten seriously hurt or, even worst, arrested," I whispered the last part. "What would've you told your dad?"

"I don't know, okay. I'm still processing everything myself. I was even thinking about not coming, even after paying."

"And have me leave you here by yourself with the chance of you doing something stupid like that again? Nope, not a chance."

"Thanks, mom, but I'm not 9," Everest said sarcastically as she reached out and put her hand on my shoulder.

"You say that now, but one day, you'll look back and thank me."

"Yeah, sure," she chuckled. I turned away from her and looked out the window. I'm not buying one bit of what she said. Is she probably still processing what happened? Maybe. But she knew exactly what she was getting into, and I have no idea why she would go out and do something like that, but it's all behind us now. She did cause a mess, though. I thought back to last night and remembered the questions the cops asked us and the tears of joy Rubble had when we got Zuma and Rocky back. Last night was honestly a traumatic experience and something I wouldn't want to relive.

"Anyone need anything else before we leave?" Sweetie asked as she stood at the front of the bus.

"There aren't many of you, right?" The football coach asked Sweetie from outside of the bus.

"No, why?" Sweetie asked.

"Well, one of the buses have a flat tire, and we won't be able to get a spare in time. The closest auto shop isn't as close as we would hope, so we would have to wait a few hours, but check-in is in three hours, and the trip is two hours and about fifteen minutes without traffic and pitstops."

"Oh," Sweetie tapped on her clipboard.

"We managed to get a few people on the other bus, but we don't have any more room. Any way we could fit some other people in here?"

"Uh, sure," Sweetie agreed.

"Oh man, if Hunter or Jackson come in here, I'm leaving," Everest complained.
