After Riven was born, Ava made sure to keep him safe. But as he grew, his powers kicked in and Ava had to keep him and his powers hidden from the outside, so he was pretty much homeschooled. Riven's mom even let him read the X-Men comics. But then Transigen found about Ava and her injection due to security footage of her injecting herself with Angel's DNA and then guard's were sent to Riven's home to capture Ava. When Ava saw the guards, she immediately hid Riven in secret bunker in her home and locked it. When the guards came, Riven heard shouting, gunshots and screaming. When all the noise finally stopped, and the guards that survived left, Riven got out of the bunker and saw the blood and bodies of his mom and the soldiers she killed. Riven was devastated and alone. He then packed all of his things and left home and hid his powers the best he could.

Esme loved her parents and her life, they traveled to a lot of cool places and collected souvenirs and took pictures from the places they've been too. One of Esme's powers kicked one night when she was asleep, she dreamt of a car crash on a concrete road but that was all she could piece together, she didn't see who was in the car or what happened beforehand. But then, one stormy afternoon, her parents and her were driving and lightning struck the rode making her parents swerve the car and crash. It was a miracle Esme even survived, and when she woke up, she was in the hospital. Scared and alone, and when she heard what happened to her parents she was very sad and the rest of her powers started to kick in but luckily no one was there in her room until a doctor saw her, but this doctor snuck her away from the hospital before anyone could find out about her.

Her dad's saw her use her ability and they immediately went back home, but what they didn't know was that someone witnessed Piper using her powers and called the police. When they got home, they saw police cars coming and they sent Piper away for her safety
