And the scientists who experimented on 11 and others found out about this and immediately went to Laura's house at night when she was asleep and they murdered her dad but spared her brother and faked Laura's death, then experimented on her in the school lab with other children. Where she met the group and they became very close and made a plan to escape together and they did and now they live in a bunker in Hawkins thanks to Murray but she misses her brother so much. But she loves her group too. She also has a hangout place/studio where she paints, draws, goes to be alone, studies, reads, creates collages, and does origami in her free time

Steve's dad found out about it and when Shannon was born, Amanda got to spend a few years with her until she went to rehab and Shannon was taken away to Hawkins. As she grew up, Shannon and Steve were attached to the hip, while Steve did sports, Shannon did cheerleading and was the leader of the squad and helped Steve with homework when she could. She also did skateboarding and rollerblading on the side in secret. One day, while hanging out with Steve and his friends, Tommy had an idea of vandalizing and trashing the school, but during this Tommy, and Steve left while Shannon was still there and the police found her and took her to court where she was sentenced to jail for two to three years. Her first few weeks was a nightmare until her jail buddy taught her everything she needed on how to survive in prison, and as time went on, she became more tougher, smarter, and more confident than she was before. When her sentence was served, her jail buddy called in a friend of hers to give Shannon a ride back to Hawkins. When she got back, she hated Steve for ditching her but she let it go but not entirely and they both are slowly rebuilding their relationship.
