When Verena was born she had the same abilities as her father. So when she was old enough, her father trained her on how to use her powers, taught her how to use a sword and other weapons, and taught her combat. As she grew up, her father went on a monster hunt but he gave her his medallion before he left. And when he went off on his hunt, he didn't come back. So Verena went to Kaer morhen where she was trained among her brothers and sisters under Vesimir and officially became a Witcher. Her mother is still alive in the city of Lyria while Verena travels going on hunts and helps people
