✶ ┊ 𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋 𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄 + NAME MEANINGS ON THE WINTER SOLSTICE OF 1988, THE 21ST OF DECEMBER, a very loving couple had their little girl after months ago of anticipation, eagerness, and tons of over preparation. The adoring couple had decided on naming their precious little girl, Calypso Freya Spelletta. The baby girl's mother had decided on the name Calypso because she really adored the way the name sounded. On the other hand, the girl's father had appreciated/ agreed to the name because he enjoyed some of the heroic stories of characters with the same name - for example, Calypso from Greek Mythology. The name Calypso is of Greek origin and means, " She who hides.". As for her middle name that comes from on of her mother's favorite Norse mythologies - Freya is the Norse goddess of things like love, warfare, sex, fertility, death, beauty, magic, and witchcraft. Also, the name Freya, is derived from the old Norse name Frejya which held the meaning "lady & noble woman.". Lastly, Calypso's last name comes from a long line of pure bloods on her father's side of the family. It was very strategic move on her parents end as they wanted to no one to known of her true faerie heritage ( something her mother did well to hide about herself and her daughter).

✶ ┊ 𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐈. Cal: the nickname is just a slightly altered version of her pre existing name. The nickname's origin came from her father, who would often call her Cal or Cali. After a while the nickname had become quite common amongst all of her very close best friends. Calypso doesn't particularly mind the nickname
𝐈𝐈. Angry Little Girl: Calypso had originally been given this nickname by her arch nemesis, Pansy Parkinson, due to her overall personality and just how pissed off the girl can tend to get. Overall, Calypso is neutral on how she feels about this nickname.
𝐈𝐈𝐈. Fire Cracker: the nickname was given to her by Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, which has always been used in a kind of teasing and very enduring way. The meaning behind this nickname is because the redhead has this kind of explosive temper that comes out at random. Most people don't know when she's going to blowup and the duo have certainly witnessed one of her explosions first hand. Since that said event, they have given her this nickname and tries to help Calypso control it. She personally doesn't mind this given nickname.
