XXVII. CONFRONTATION

The next days, nasa bahay lang ako at bantay sarado. Boring is an understatement. Magkakasakit pa ata ako sa sobrang pagkabagot.

One morning, I called Titan. I can't do this anymore!

"Bored?" He playfully asked the moment he answered the phone.

I rolled my eyes. "I'll be a good girl. I promise." My tone though was opposite to what I really feel. It was sweet and soft.

"Convince me more." Ang gago pinaglalaruan pa ako porket alam niyang buryong-buryo na ako.

"I can edit your speech." Pero siyempre nangangailangan ako kaya sige.

"Ano pa?" He probed. Bweset na senador 'to. Sayang-saya na miserable ako.

"I can feed you lunch, like last time?" It's still 7 in the morning eh. Kagatin mo na, Titancio.

"Still a no princess." He mimicked Tatay's voice. He's enjoying this!

I sighed. Should I take a bath the whole day para may magawa naman ako kahit papaano?

"Are you sad?" He whispered on the other line.

Yes asshole! But I won't tell him.

"No. Baba ko na. May gagawin ako." They're being over protective. I want them to realized that I  am not a liability and will never be.

He cursed on the other line. Napairap ako bago tuluyang ibinaba ang tawag. Bahala ka sa buhay mo.

Ba't ba ako umasang paluluguran niya ako? Nabadtrip pa tuloy ako. Padabog akong pumasok ng banyo at naligo.

Nasa hapagkainan ako at mabagal na kumakain nang bigla akong tinawag ng isang kasambahay.

"Why?" Walang gana kong tanong.

"Sinusundo po kayo ng isa sa mga kaibigan ni Sir Titan, ma'am. Nasa rooftop po siya at pinapasabi na bilisan niyo na kasi hinihintay na po kayo ni Sir sa Pasay."

Oh? Nagbago isip niya? Binilisan ko ang pagkain at pag-aayos. Minutes later nasa ere na kami at pinapalipad na ni Azid ang helicopter. May lisensya pala 'to?

"ANONG GINAWA MO AT NAPASUNOD MO SI TITAN SA GUSTO MO?" sigaw niya para magkakarinigan talaga kami.

"WALA AKONG GINAWA. HINDI KO SIYA PINILIT AT SINABI NA IBABABA KO NA LANG ANG TAWAG." sigaw ko pabalik.

Tumawa naman ang kasama ko. Ganon lang ang nangyari sa buong durasyon ng biyahe namin.

"Thank you." I said preferring to Azid.

Pagkalapag namin ay inirapan ko si Titan at nilampasan. Akala ko nawala na ng tuluyan ang inis ko sa kaniya, but after seeing his face the feeling resurface.

"May mga kulang pa ba sa mga supplies?" Everyone were happy to see me again. Namiss daw nila ako. Ako rin naman.

I lost track of time dahil naging abala sa paggawa ng mga bagay-bagay. My brows furrowed when Titan handed me a folder.

"Bakit?"

"Uh—a-ano sabi mo i-checheck mo speech ko kaya heto."

Tinanggap ko ito at binuklat. I read the whole thing and I can't help but be in awe. I've read his previous speeches and I really like how all of it were handwritten. He personally wrote these and his handwriting is really beautiful.
