XV. LEAST I COULD DO

"You may now kiss the bride." The voice of the priest blended with the waves.

Unti-unting inalis ni Titan ang veil na nakatakip sa mukha ko.

"Are we really doing this?" He whispered.

"You're the one who agreed to this." Pinandilatan ko siya ng mata.

"I did not expect it to be like this, but, it's okay since I can kiss you."

I place my hand on his chest and slowly pinch him. Napangiwi siya ng konti but he still manage to inch closer.

Instead of a short but deep kiss, what he did is a long series of smack and light kisses. He's fighting the urge to smile but I remained looking at him.

"CUT!"

Titan pinch my cheeks after naming inilayo ang labi sa isa't isa. I glared at him.

"Geez. Stop being cold wife." Umiwas ako ng tingin sa kaniya at hinarap ang mga staffs. I bowed at them.

"Thank you for all your hardwork po! Happy New Year!"

The man beside me bowed his head too and thank everyone. We will be the third on screen couple that will star in the variety show, We got married. The one Titan agreed to when we were having a row.

Our segment will probably air on.. say March?

Today's our first shoot and it will continue after the holidays. We are in Boracay where our wedding march is held. The sea is the altar's background and the sound of the waves adds to the serenity of the place. The flowers were designed beautifully, a mix color of blue and yellow, and petals were scattered in the carpet.

Nasayangan pa nga ako sa mga talulot na natapakan ko kanina. They're so pretty, I find it hard to step on them.

As for my wedding dress,  beautiful is an understatement. Wala akong kaalam-alam pagdating sa mga desinyo but I know this one's expensive. The diamonds says it all. Ganun din kay Titan, his modern barong tagalog is perfectly made to the point na mapapalingon ka. Mahihiya ka nalang tumabi talaga.

Kudos to the management, ang laki ng budget nila for this show. The staffs are very accommodating din.

"Mauuna na po kami."

Magalang naming paalam sa lahat ng staffs. They offered us free lunch but we politely declined kasi maghahanda pa kami para sa pagsalubong ng bagong taon.

I celebrated christmas peacefully. It was intimate as always because I believe the essence of Christmas is family. And when I say family, I meant Jisius and Tatay.

For new year, I am very excited. Yesterday, Tatay broke the news. He's with Nanay Ebang. Ang tanda na raw nila para sa ligawan kaya ayun. Jisius and I were so happy. Ang lupit din ng Tatay ko, ang bilis. Natatawa na lang ako sa naiisip.

Nanay Ebang is a widow for more than 20 years now. We'll be visiting their ancentral house in Cubao. Hindi iyong bahay nila dito sa metro. Andun din daw iyong dalawang anak niya na kapwa may mga asawa na.

"Saan kita ibaba?"

"Sa bahay."

"Galit ka talaga kasi sobrang aga ng naging shoot natin? Nainformed naman na nila na tayo, ah?"

I sighed.

"Hindi ako galit. It's just that today's my first day."

"First day? First wha-" He shut up and nodded.
