(Yoooo let's just pretend that Hatter didn't already have the 10♦️ lmao. Just for the story.)

------

Akane felt cold as she walked out the door. She was alone again. Of course, she knew it was her fault. She's 20 and still stupid.

A lot of people passed by her and noticed how her aura changed. She had her head faced down instead of her usual confidently raised head. If that makes sense.

People were whispering, gossiping about what could have happened to make her be like that. They barely know her and in this world they didn't really have anything better to do.

Akane found an executive member and came up to them. She was the one called Mira. When she was close enough, Mira noticed her and smiled.

"There you are! We were looking for you! Hatter called a meeting and told us to bring you in." Mira told her. She merely nodded in response. Akane was about to ask her where Hatter was anyway to give her card.

They walked for like an eternity, that's what it felt for Akane. She was pretty exhausted. She just wanted to curl up in bed and sleep until she's hungry.

"Aha! There she is! My little golden girl!"

Akane's eyes widened at Hatter's words. She had no clue why she'd be his "little golden girl".

"Tell me, what card do you have for me this time?" He asked with a grin.

She took out the card from her back pocket and handed it over to him. His eyes glistened at the sight of the card. Without another word, he took it from her and held it up. He was definitely happy.

At that time, Akane took her time to look at the people inside. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw the guy she left at the bar. Chishiya had a blank look on his face, his eyes fixated on the floor.

She didn't know what to feel about that. Maybe she didn't really care about it. Her eyes then moved on to the guy she was with just minutes ago. He was by the window, his eyes looking out at the people below.

Akane was confused. She thought they'd be fine after that talk. Of course, if she didn't include him walking out on her like a bitch. She didn't want to think about it anymore. They were just two dumb guys.

"Well, they aren't really dumb but..." She mumbled to herself. Clearly, she was conflicted about caring or not caring at all.

"This is your third game, yes? This is a high card, I'm impressed. Would you like to be an executive? I don't want to wait around until you clear two more games. This card is proof enough that you're an asset to The Beach." Hatter said with a smile. She thought about it earlier, but she didn't want to be an executive.

"Hatter, if you don't mind, I'd like to be a militant." She gave him an innocent little smile.

Everyone in the room stared at her, not expecting what she said. On the outside she didn't really look like she would be fit to be a militant. The girl was only 5'2, petite, and looked sweet enough to be candy.

"Ahh, you got me there!" Hatter laughed, thinking she was kidding but she didn't budge.

Hatter looked at Aguni who looked at him. They shared a look and Aguni nodded.

"Then, you are now officially a militant! You know the rules and the role of militants to this utopia, I presume? Well, Aguni is now your boss." Hatter clasped a hand on Aguni's shoulders.

"Thank you," That was all Akane said to them. She knew being a militant meant more time with Niragi but that wasn't really her goal.

Akane knew the power she had being a militant, the guns she could have, the feeling of being praised. She was high at the thought of that.

"Can I pick my own gun?" Akane asked Aguni, wide-eyed.

Aguni stared at her for a moment and slowly nodded, it simply looked like he was in a trance. Akane smirked at that.

"Niragi, take her to the ammunition room. Let her pick what she wants." He commanded.

Niragi who was in his own world immediately snapped back to reality. He didn't know what to think of the new addition. Did he like being close to her? Did he want to be close to her? He didn't really know. There were just some scars that would never heal.

He walked over and barely glanced at her before going out of the room. Akane assumed that was his way of telling her to follow him so she did.

She was a few feet behind him, Niragi walking faster than her. It was like he didn't want to be the one with her at the moment.

Soon enough Niragi opened a door and went inside. Akane didn't realize that he had led her to the basement. She was spacing out the entire time they were walking. She went inside after a few seconds of shaking her head to clear her thoughts.

Niragi was silent as he looked at the guns inside the room. Akane scanned the room full of ammunition and different types of guns in awe. She always wanted to have guns, she even had a pellet gun that looked real at her apartment.

"I want to know what happened to you when you went away," Niragi couldn't stop himself from speaking to her.

Akane turned to look at him and smiled before looking back at the guns.

"Are you sure you could handle it? Not gonna walk out on me again, are ya?" She teased him. They were alike in some ways, like how they both want to forget the past but somehow keep remembering them. Akane sighed when Niragi didn't reply.

"I was 16, when I got into an accident, well not really an accident. It was more like I was harassed by the son of a rich businessman. Of course, I fought back but I was the one who got in trouble for it. Turns out, the rich businessman was about to give my parents' company major funding but they pulled out because of what happened. My parents blamed me for it, I thought about ending my life and overdosed on sleeping pills. I almost died but one of the maids saved me. She saw me and called a private doctor immediately. He prescribed me medication that slowly made me lose my memories. My parents faked my death to the public and even arranged a funeral to let people see how 'loving' parents they were. Fucking trash. After the funeral, they gave me money barely enough to keep me alive for a month before kicking me out. They also warned me to change my name, everything that could link me to them. In this world I'm known by my real name, Akane. Back in the real world I'm Sakura Hina."

Akane picked a gun in one hand and got another in her other hand.

"Can I have two?"
