"Don't move!"

Akane rushed to Chishiya's side when he tried to get up. It was still dark outside so she just used her phone to have some light in the room.

"Am I in heaven or hell?" Chishiya mumbled, his eyes hazily looking at her.

"Are you implying that I have a 50% chance of going to hell?" Akane crossed her arms against her chest, giving Chishiya a stern look.

"I was just kidding." Chishiya sheepishly grinned. Akane couldn't help but smile before rolling her eyes.

It was a good thing that he could joke around like this but she is still worried about him.

"I'm so happy right now." Chishiya sighed and closed his eyes again.

"Huh?" Akane stared at him, confused why he would be happy after an accident.

"Hey, I just want to ask. If I didn't ghost you for a couple of days, would you have stayed with me? Even after what I did?" He asked her, still with his eyes closed.

Akane felt a wave of sadness hit her. Tears slowly formed in her eyes. She kept thinking why she suddenly missed him. But she kept that to herself.

Don't forget Niragi, she thought.

"Shuntarou..." She didn't know what to say to him. Truthfully, she would have probably stayed if he tried to actually apologize and not ignore her. But she didn't want to tell him that to prevent getting his hopes up again.

"Just tell me....this could be my last day alive, you know?" Chishiya opened one eye to look at her and smirked.

Akane hit his shoulder, surprising him.

"You asshole! Don't say things like that!" Akane glared at Chishiya as he grinned sheepishly at her.

It warmed him how she chose to stay here and look after him. Chishiya had his hopes up again. Because in his mind, choosing to stay here with him was like she was choosing him.
He looked at her. The way her eyes worried for him, it somehow gave him hope.

"Would you have stayed?" He asked her again, seeing her eyes flicker to him. Chishiya saw the answer in her eyes and that was enough for him.

Akane didn't need to say anything, he already knew from just one look at her. Chishiya opened his arms wide at her. She finally let her tears escape and embraced him.

Chishiya rubbed her back as she sobbed into his arms. He used to hate her a little, making him feel like utter crap. But he realized that she was just like him, broken. Both of them didn't know what love was, neither experienced it throughout their lives before they came in the borderlands. It was rare to see her like this that's why he cherished every moment like this with her.

"I'll wait for you. I'll wait until you come back to me. There can never be another you." Chishiya whispered, still holder her.

"I don't think I'll ever come back to you, Shuntarou. Please live on and find someone better." Akane's words stung, even in her own heart. But she had no choice but to let him go. She can't continue stringing him along in her messy life.

"I don't want to, you know I don't want to." Chishiya's hold on her tightened, not wanting to ever let her go. He wanted to hold on to her so badly but she was pulling away.

"You can find someone new, someone so much better. I'm just another dumb hoe." Akane laughed at her own words, tears still pooling in her eyes. It hurt to let him go but she had to, she wanted to.

"No. I won't. When we get back in the real world, I'm taking you back."

Akane couldn't get any words out of her mouth. It was too painful for her. She really did turn soft. She thought if she could, she'd split herself in two.

Chishiya fell asleep with her in his arms but Akane was wide awake. She slowly crept out of his arms and just sat by his side.

Akane realized she still loved him but she also realized that he could do so much better. She can't go back to him knowing she felt something for Niragi too. She wasn't pure enough for Chishiya anymore.

She got up and sat back on the couch. Her mind was full of thoughts, messed up thoughts. She thought about just ending things with both of them or dating both of them at the same time. The thought made her laugh. Even though she was like that back then, she couldn't do that to them now.

The sun slowly rised, but she was still there sitting. She didn't move until Chishiya called out to her. Akane turned around to face him and didn't realize he was actually hovering over her.

"You could have slept on the bed, no one else but me would know."

Akane rolled her eyes at him, a smile forming on her lips. She knew he was just kidding and if anybody knew him best it was her. Chishiya would find a way to brag about it to Niragi's face and she definitely didn't want that happening.

They finally decided to get out to the living room. The others were there and someone already cooked a meal for all of them. Akane guided Chishiya to sit on the couch while she sat on the carpet, her back leaning on the couch.

The others were talking like they weren't in a dangerous situation but that was all they could do to keep themselves sane in these times.

Niragi walked in and his eyes immediately found Akane's. She smiled at him, making him worry. It wasn't her usual smile. He couldn't make out what it meant but it definitely wasn't good.

His eyes darted to Chishiya who was staring at Akane. It was as if Chishiya could feel Niragi's stare and turned to look at him.

Niragi felt his hands form a fist as Chishiya slowly smirked at him. He didn't know what happened between them that night but he wanted to trust Akane. Chishiya just wanted to mess with him again.

He walked over to where Akane was sitting and smirked right back at Chishiya before giving her a kiss. Akane was surprised at this and instinctively moved away when Niragi was about to kiss her again.

This made him angry and kiss her forcefully in front of everyone there. Akane felt embarrassed and didn't like the kiss one bit. She pulled away again, this time staring hard into his eyes.

"There are other people here, Niragi." She said sternly but Niragi wasn't having any of it. He was pissed.

Without another word, he forcefully got her up. Chishiya stood up as well, seeing that she looked hurt.

"Sit the fuck down." Niragi pointed to Chishiya who didn't budge. This made him more angry that he threw a punch at him.

Chishiya took the punch right in the jaw, spitting out blood on the carpet. Everyone there was shocked and tried to stop anything worse from happening.

"Don't hurt him! I'll go with you!" Akane pulled on Niragi so that he wouldn't be able to reach Chishiya.

"No, don't go with him. He's dangerous." Chishiya said to her sternly but she just shooke her head, her eyes glistening with tears.

Niragi scoffed at the word dangerous. He wasn't dangerous to her, Chishiya was. That was his opinion.

"Shuntarou, please just stay here." Akane said before Niragi dragged her out of there.

It was another thing that irritated him to no end. Akane calls Chishiya by his first name yet she calls him Niragi.

His grip on her wrist started to hurt her but she couldn't say anything. If it wasn't for Chishiya, she would never have let Niragi take her at that moment. But she feared what would happen to the blond if she were to refuse.

Niragi pulled her into a room, his room. Just as the door closed, he pinned her to the wall. He kissed her neck, her shoulders, her lips. Tears started to fall from her eyes. She knew everything was her fault and she wanted nothing more than to just disappear.

Akane gasps as Niragi suddenly pulled out a pocket knife. Just as she thought, Niragi cut her skin just below her collarbone. His lips immediately licked the blood that was starting to fall down to her now open chest.

"You need to be punished."

With that, Akane closed her eyes and let him do what he wanted to her.
