Kuina screamed as they see Chishiya's car speeding past them and spiraling out of control. Akane's heart stopped momentarily when it crashed against a building. She waited for him to come out but he didn't.

Without thinking twice, she got out of the car and ran to where Chishiya's car crashed. Niragi tried to stop her, cursing himself when she didn't listen to him. The K♠️ could kill them all if they didn't get out of there fast. They knew they were at a disadvantage at the moment.

Akane immediately opened the door to Chishiya's side, seeing him losing consciousness. He had hit his head on the steering wheel on impact and several shards of glass had managed to cut through his face although they were only little cuts, he was lucky that his neck wasn't the one who took the damage.

"I'm going to get you out of her Shuntarou! Please don't die on me!" Akane was frantically taking off his seatbelt.

Chishiya fell to her side and she managed to get him out of the car. Niragi who had watched the entire scene unfold didn't know what to feel. He wanted him gone but his princess would never forgive him if he'd just let him die.

"Get in."

Niragi had drove to them and opened the door. Akane got in and basically let Chishiya sit on her because she wanted to make sure that he'll be fine.

"Shuntarou....don't sleep.." She whispered to him as she caressed his cheek.

Everyone else in the car looked away, thinking that the scene was too intimate for them to watch. Even Niragi couldn't watch them, he felt jealous even at a time like this. Niragi had more rage towards the K♠️ now because he was the reason why they were in this situation now.

Niragi stepped on the gas and drove faster, getting away from the K♠️ game area. He didn't really know where to go, he just wanted to get out of there fast.

"Let's go back to that manor." Akane quietly said as she kept staring at Chishiya. The thought of him dying right now made her blood run cold.

Niragi didn't say anything and just followed her orders. He didn't want to talk to her at the moment but he can still listen. As soon as they got out, Kuina and the others arrived too just seconds after them.

"Is he okay?" Kuina asked Akane, motioning to Chishiya.

"I think so, his pulse is fine but I think he has a concussion. He's lost consciousness." Akane's mind was a mess but she still tried her best.

They quickly got in, Akane putting Chishiya on the bed they slept in. She quickly got a first aid box and some hot water with a towel. Everyone else was outside in the living room, even Niragi who didn't want to see them together. He knew she was just helping out but the thought of her going back to him just because she almost saw him die was gnawing at the back of his mind.

Niragi didn't want to bring the past back to the present but back then, she did have a habit of going back and forth with them. Although he was tired of it, he would still never give up on her. He knew she loved him, he was confident in that.

But his thoughts were once again consumed. He thought back to the days before they got separated. Akane was always so damn good in playing with other people's hearts. Niragi couldn't help but doubt her sincerity sometimes. He knew she had mental problems and he could just be dating only one of her many personalities while she's faithful to someone else with the others. The thought was crazy enough but it wouldn't be impossible with her.

Akane came out to the living room, getting their attention. She had a calm look on her face so that meant Chishiya was going to be okay.

"I'm going to hunt down the K♠️." Aguni suddenly announced. The others looked at him like he was crazy but still, someone had to do it.

"Do you have a death wish?! The least you could do is take a rest!" The girl beside him said.

"I'll go out first thing in the morning tomorrow then." He sighed defeatedly.

Akane and Niragi didn't know who the girl was but they were impressed. She had managed to keep him back just like that.

That night, they prepared their sleeping arrangements after they had dinner. Since there were a lot of rooms in the house, everyone had managed to finally get some long deserved rest.

"Will you be staying with him tonight?" Niragi felt a pang in his chest even though Akane hasn't answered.

"Would you let me?" Akane asked with a chuckle. She was actually feeling completely blank because of everything that's been happening.

"No." Niragi breathed out a sigh while massaging his forehead. He wanted to keep her to himself but if she really opposed him, he knew he couldn't do anything about it.

"Both of us can go in the room, you know." Akane pointed out. But Niragi didn't want to see her worrying for Chishiya, that was the reason why he hasn't been sticking around her whenever she went in that room.

"I'll pass." Niragi finally muttered after a moment of contemplation.

"Are you sure? You're not going to get jealous right?" She had to make sure that he was okay with it so it wouldn't give her more problems.

"I trust you won't get too intimate with him."

"But what if...something happens?" Akane was just testing him, if he was really confident in his decision.

"Trusting you again is my decision but proving me wrong is your choice."

With that, Niragi turned around and went inside one of the unoccupied guest rooms.
His words etched themselves unto her mind, making her think about it even after two hours.

Akane couldn't sleep, she wanted to make sure that Chishiya was going to sleep through the night without any problems. Her eyes were drooping but they'd immediately open whenever Chishiya made a sound.

She stared at him now peacefully sleeping. He deserved the whole world and so much more. Sadly, she can't give that to him. Akane was useless to him, only hurting him whenever he tried to get closer. It was like forcefully hugging a cactus.

Suddenly her phone got a notification. It was still functioning even after all those days she last cleared a game.

The phone showed a joker card and an address, nothing more. She was confused as hell. Then a timer was added, it seemed like she had 24hrs to get there.

Akane looked back at Chishiya's sleeping figure. She didn't want to leave him in the dead of night so she thought about leaving in the morning.

She put the phone back in her pocket with a sigh. Her mind wandered to the possibilities of what she could be facing there. It could be her death, for all she knows.
