Chishiya clasped a hand on Akane's shoulder but she instinctively stepped away. He felt empty as he looked at her. She was quietly sobbing and he was the reason. He hated himself but he was still happy that Niragi was out of the picture.

Against her wishes, Chishiya pulled her into a hug. She kept hitting his shoulders to let her go but he wouldn't budge, he still held her tight. Akane gave up and just sobbed on his chest. She hated him at that moment as much as she hated herself. She became naive and that's why she was like this right now. Everything was her fault.

It hurt her more because she had doubted him earlier when it turns out she was the one who wasn't strong enough to stay faithful. Even though she didn't want what happened, she still felt that it was mostly her fault because she hadn't pulled away.

They were probably inside the building for hours. The sun was starting to set when they got out. Chishiya was hesitant on following her because he didn't want to damage her more than he already has but not keeping an eye on her would worry him. She looked so lost that she almost walked into a pole.

Chishiya sighed as he trailed her, keeping his distance just enough to save her if something ever happens.

"At least look at where you're going." Chishiya muttered as he watched her rub her forehead after walking into a pole.

He picked up his pace and grabbed her shoulders to make her look at him. Just as he thought, she was crying again. It must've really hurt her when she walked into a pole, Chishiya thought.

He wiped her tears silently and blew on her forehead, making her calm down a little. Chishiya felt like he was consoling a child and it somehow warmed him inside.

The selfish part of him was glad that she was with him, he didn't care if she was still hurting for someone else. He just wanted her back no matter what.

"Stop this, Shuntarou." Akane finally spoke up. Chishiya looked at her but didn't say or do anything.

She hastily wiped her own tears before looking at him in the eyes.

"I hate you." It was what she felt at that moment. However, she wanted to take it back when she saw how the light in his eyes started to fade.

Chishiya felt dead, he was breathing but at the same time he felt like he wasn't getting any oxygen. He knew he made her angry but it still hit different when she said those words.

He wanted to stay by her side, especially now that she's all alone. But a part of him wanted to walk away. These feelings were at war with each other inside him. The girl made him into such an emotional mess. His hand went inside his pocket, gripping the phone in there. If she were to really push him away, he'd still have a little something of her to remind him with. But he didn't want just a photo, he wanted the person.

"I know. You can hate me as much as you want." Chishiya replied, his eyes on the ground as she stared at him.

Akane wanted nothing to do with him yet she can't figure out why she just can't push him away. He was a constant reminder of what she had done.

Looking at him now, she realized how much she had changed. How soft she had become.

Back in the real world, she wasn't like this at all. Akane couldn't give two shits about anyone else but her. She was unbreakable, to say the least.

If she could see herself in the mirror now, she'd see a soft and broken little girl. A little girl who wanted nothing more than to love and be loved. Love, something that she never got to experience with her parents throughout her entire childhood. But she couldn't really blame them for how she turned out, it was all her decisions.
