Chishiya and Akane kept laughing to themselves like little kids as they walked to the pool area. They had just finished eating and since they literally got nothing to do, they decided to chill beside the pool. Akane's flip flops were torn just from tripping over a large rock earlier that she didn't see because her attention was on the boy next to her.

She was now barefoot, having refused Chishiya of his offer to let her wear his footwear. They were having fun just sitting there with their feet in the pool, just watching people pass by.

It was peaceful but of course that didn't last long when a certain group of people came to their side.

"Meeting in 5." Aguni grunted before passing by her and walking inside the hotel, followed by Niragi and the rest of the militants.

Akane eyed her locker bracelet. She was #8. Her favorite number. Due to all the things that happened, she almost forgot that she was a militant. She even left her precious gun in her room.

She sighed and turned to Chishiya who was already looking at her. He silently nodded, understanding the situation and let her get up and walk inside the hotel.

Chishiya's eyes trailed her movements until she was out of sight. He leaned back using his arms as a prop and stared at the bright sky. He was getting used to having her by his side and that scared him. In the borderlands, you should only care about yourself.

He never cared about others so why did he have to care now? Nevertheless, he didn't want to distance himself from her. Chishiya was prepared for whatever may happen in the future. He was prepared of the consequences he may face.

At that thought, he got up and went inside the hotel. He needed another long rest.

Akane entered the room and quietly sat on a seat farthest from a certain guy. She knew she wasn't late as she had arrived in less than five minutes so she wasn't at all nervous.

"Our supplies are running low, Hatter had given us a task to scout for more. I'll need to either group you or put you up in pairs." Aguni started.

"Wow, this feels like I'm back in school or something." Akane couldn't help but say. Everyone turned their head towards her, all serious and shit.

She raised her eyebrows and her hands indicating she was gonna shut it now. The meeting went on after that.

"So, since there's only a few of us, I'll be putting you in pairs and giving you different tasks. That way, we could replenish our supplies faster." Aguni continued.

Oh great, with her luck she'll end up getting paired with Niragi. That was what first came into her mind.

"You," Aguni suddenly pointed at her. "And you. You two will be in charge of getting more cars. That should be easy, right?"

Akane nodded, glad that she wasn't paired up with the psychotic asshole in the room. But who's to say that the one she was paired up with wasn't a psychotic asshole as well? Oh well, she'll find out in a bit.

The meeting eventually ended, everyone was hurrying to go outside to finish their tasks early. Akane didn't really listen to everything Aguni had said. She was basically spacing out throughout the meeting.

The guy she was paired up with caught up to her. Looking at him now, he didn't look like he's fit to be a militant at all. He wasn't intimidating to say the least.
