It's been five days since Chishiya saw Akane. He didn't know why but the girl just disappeared out of thin air.

Four days ago, Hatter had called a meeting. He announced that some militants were sent out to scout further until they were called back.

Chishiya of course went out that same night, searching for where they could be. But he returned to The Beach without seeing even a glimpse of her shadow.

There was no doubt that he missed her, everyone at The Beach could see that. Kuina tried to get him to cheer up but he was too worried.

Instead, he went to games and cleared them as fast as he could before drowning himself in alcohol. At nights, he would sleep in her room on her bed.

The thought of Akane being with Niragi didn't help as well. He always felt irritated whenever the thought comes to his mind no matter how much he pushed it away.

Chishiya knew she was free to do whatever she wanted, he didn't have a hold on her like she had on him. He was slowly falling for her; her wit, her smile, her scent, everything.

It was crazy to think that before he even met her, he couldn't have even imagined himself to be like this.
He knew that it was pathetic of him to mope around but he couldn't help it. He was so used to seeing her everyday. He couldn't help but imagine what he would feel if something were to happen to her. Chishiya dreaded the day he won't get to see her anymore.

"This isn't a horror movie, we should just split up." Akane said, her arms crossed. She had a lollipop in her mouth, something that she had taken from a store along with other things.

"Just keep quiet," Aguni said to her making her pout.

Akane was just telling them that they'd do their job faster if they all split up. Aguni was the one who suggested they form groups and Niragi of course voted for pairs.

There were four in each group, a total of 6 groups. Before getting sent out, they had recruited a lot of militants to use to their advantage.

"Alright, tomorrow let's split." Aguni suddenly announced after a few minutes.

"By pairs." Niragi added, sending a wink to Akane.

Aguni then walked away, talking on a walkie-talkie. Probably announcing his decision to the other militants as well.

They had camped near the edge of Tokyo for the night. Basically for the past few days, they scouted around Tokyo so see any signs for the face cards. They also played games to extend their visas and luckily the four of them survived each one.

Haru, the other militant of their 4-member group, was fast asleep on the ground. They had sleeping bags, no tents. It was probably near 8 in the evening now.

"Have you eaten yet?" Niragi crouched down before sitting beside Akane.

Akane raised an eyebrow and gave him a look like she couldn't believe what he just asked.

"You literally watched me eat an hour ago. What drugs are you on?" She shook her head and threw a tiny rock at the small fire they had in the middle.

"Just wanted to start a conversation." Niragi held his hands up with a shrug.

It was rare to see him like this. It was almost like the asshole was actually normal. The whole five days they've been together, he literally annoyed her every chance he got. And by annoy her, she meant verbally and physically.

Of course, Niragi didn't really go too far. He didn't want her to hate him. Niragi just kept teasing her, that's all. It wasn't like she hated every second of it.

Akane just didn't like how he made her feel each time he came close to her. Niragi would smile at her at random times. Not smirk, but smile. Like a genuine smile. Even during Aguni's little meetings.

Aguni would only sigh whenever he caught Niragi pay more attention to Akane than his words. Even he knew that Niragi seemed more tame now compared to when she wasn't there.

Niragi scooted a little closer to Akane, making her scoot away. She had wide eyes when Niragi snapped his neck towards her. He had another one of those smiles that just stuns her for a whole minute.

Akane snapped back to reality when he looked away. Her heart was beating terribly fast which seemed to happen quite frequently nowadays. She looked ahead, they were just a few meters beside a lake.

She shot out of her seat and paused, wanting to experience night swimming with someone.
Akane turned her head to Niragi who was surprised at her sudden movement.

"Want to swim in the lake with me?" She asked, holding out her hand.

Akane only wanted him to come because she was too afraid to go on her own. The thought of being alone in the middle of a big body of water terrified her but she wouldn't be that scared if she had someone with her.

"What?" Niragi was apparently too stunned that she would even think of inviting him.

Akane sighed and grabbed his arm without waiting for a proper answer. She led him near the water and quickly stripped to her underwear.

Niragi stumbled back, not expecting her to undress in front of him. Slowly, he did the same and let her take him into the water.

The scene was just so symbolic. Akane took him deeper until they couldn't touch the rocks underneath anymore. They were in the middle of the lake now, just the two of them under the moonlight.

Niragi couldn't understand what he felt as he watched her smile and laugh. He felt like he was dreaming, the moonlight adding to it.

Akane tried swimming backwards, something she was never really good at and without meaning to, she bumped into Niragi's chest who had been silent for a while.

"Oops, sorry." She laughed a little, not really meaning it that much. Akane knew it didn't hurt him anyway.

She was about to swim away on her back again but Niragi had pulled her back to him. His face was serious. No sign of a smirk, nothing. Niragi was just staring at her blankly.

Akane didn't know what to say or do so her eyes just keep darting from one place to another. She was well aware that Niragi was most dangerous whenever he was close to her.

"Uh. Hello? Can I swim now?" Akane waved her other hand in front of Niragi's face but he didn't react to it. Her hand fell back in the water to keep her steady.

Akane laughed a little in amusement while staring at him. He seemed to have completely zoned out. She tried to lean closer to him to see if he would react to her. Akane smiled when he didn't even bat an eyelid. She was beginning to think that he froze but the water was warm so that would be impossible.

They stayed like that for a good two to three minutes. Akane didn't try to get away, she waited for him to move on his own. As soon as he did, Akane gave a shriek. She was surprised that Niragi suddenly pulled her like that. She realized that Niragi was hugging her so she awkwardly patted his bare back. It felt like she was consoling a child.

"Just one..."

It was faint but she still heard it considering the position they were in. Akane leaned back to take a look at him but he wouldn't let her. Instead, he held her in place.

It was a miracle they were still floating, she thought.

A second later, she changed her mind as they slowly descended under water. By then, Niragi had let go of her. She was about to go up to get some oxygen but turns out she didn't have to. Niragi had given it to her.
