Niragi laid her down on the bed before getting over her. There was something in him controlling him wanting to hurt her. His eyes fell on her face, she was crying silently. Niragi let go of the knife in his hand, letting it fall to the carpeted floor.

Her eyes looked so sad as she stared at the ceiling and her tears continued to fall. Niragi buried his face on the crook of her neck and he hugged her body tightly.

"I'm sorry, princess. I was too angry, I'm sorry. Please forgive me." He tried to choke back a sob but it was no use.

Niragi felt her hand caress the back of his head slowly, making him feel guiltier. He hurt her but she was still so patient with him.

"Princess, please talk to me...." He whispered, feeling so much pain even though she was the one bleeding.

"It's okay, Niragi..." Akane whispered as she hugged him tightly feeling like it was the last time she'd get to hold him like that.

Even if she tried, she knew she couldn't resist him. He was her home. Niragi hurt her physically, emotionally, mentally but the thought of losing him hurt her more. She didn't know why she was like this, why she liked him even though they were toxic.

Soon enough, Niragi fell asleep. Akane caressed his cheek, taking a good long look at him just in case. She slowly got up and looked around for other clothes. When she found some, she went to the bathroom and took a shower.

Akane was prepared for whatever was going to happen to her. She glanced at Niragi still sleeping before going out the door. When she got to Chishiya's room, she only took a peek and saw him also sleeping. The others have already gone after the K♠️, joining Aguni. It was easy for her to slip away.

It wasn't a long walk, just a few blocks around the corner and she was there. The K♠️ blimp wasn't anywhere around her so she was safe.

Akane entered the sketchy building, looking around for the exits just in case. She had a bad feeling in her gut but it made her even more curious.

Finally, she got to the room that was on her phone. She opened the door and saw a table in between two chairs that were faced with each other.

Akane took a seat and realized she wasn't alone. The figure dressed in all black had a mask to cover their face, it took a seat in front of her and placed a card on the desk. A joker card.

"Show me your highest card." He told her.

Akane showed him the Q♦️ card. It was a good thing she hadn't lost it.

"We have a proposition for you. Would you like to hear it?"

The familiar feeling of excitement filled her body. She was now grinning at the masked man. It seemed like her old self was back once again, the one who wouldn't feel compassion nor guilt.

"Yes." She breathed out.

Aguni jumped down from the window, his arm still bleeding. They had gone after the K♠️ but it was a total disaster. Each of them had gone their own way, trying to find each other. They didn't know how they came to this situation.

"You shouldn't have came with us! Go back now!" Aguni yelled at the young boy. He had insisted to come with them to help but he was actually more of a burden now. The boy just wanted to protect his new family and he couldn't even do that.

"We have to find her!" The boy said pertaining to the woman who was only slightly older than him. He treated her like family just like Aguni. He didn't want anything happening to them.

"Go back! I'll find her myself!"

The boy sighed, defeated. He deemed himself no longer useful so he was going to turn around and run away but he saw how the K♠️ was targeting Aguni. He didn't think twice to jump forward, pushing Aguni away and ultimately taking the bullet even though he tried to dodge it.

"You idiot! I'm taking you back!" Aguni held the boy in his arms, carrying him as he ran to the direction of the manor.

He hurried in getting him inside. Aguni didn't care that his arm was bleeding or that he had carried the boy for more than half an hour while running. He just wanted him to live.

"Put him here!" Akane cleared the table and moved it away so Aguni could place him there, they didn't want to waste more time in going to a room.

Akane kept calm in cleaning his wound and getting the bullet out. It was a relief that she had taken the time to get medical apparatus on her way back.

Soon enough, the boy was already bandaged up. Aguni carried the boy again and put him in the room he slept in last night. Akane glanced at Aguni's arm and realized he was injured as well.

Aguni didn't have to tell her, she was already fixing him up as well. He bowed gratefully at her but he was too worried for the boy on the bed.

Akane left the two, giving them privacy. She felt like they were father and son, if that made sense. Though, she knew Aguni had always wanted a family of his own. He even treated Akane and Niragi as somewhat like his children. Well, if he didn't include the fact that the two were together.

She walked back to Niragi's room, seeing him so peaceful made her think he was better off without her. He was usually stressed the fuck out whenever she was around.

Akane hoped no one else would need her, she hoped that the others where hiding somewhere safe. She took one last look at Niragi before going out of the manor, never looking back.

She walked further, not wanting to give up her resolve and go back to them. It took a lot of her to actually walk away because she didn't want to leave them. They made her somewhat sane and she was grateful for that. But everything would eventually come to an end.

After walking for almost four hours, Akane found herself a new place to stay. The place felt empty but she already expected that.

She thought back to what the joker said and couldn't help but feel like she made the wrong decision. But she had already gone so far that it would be pointless to go back now.

"The position for the Q♦️ is open and you are the only one who can take over." The masked man said to her.

Akane felt proud of herself. She really liked to take pride in being the only one for it. She didn't even think twice to accept the offer.

"But in exchange for the position, you mustn't participate in the last two games. If they clear it on their own and you should feel the need to go back to the real world with them, you can still go."

Akane didn't want to go back to the real world. Nothing was waiting for her there. In the borderlands, this was where she was supposed to be. All those who have a sick and twisted mind belong here.

"If you accept the position, you are bound to this world until your death."

A chill ran up to her spine but nevertheless, she nodded accepting the offer.

Akane was now crowned the Queen of Diamonds.
