Waking up next to Team was Win's favourite thing to do. Not even that one song by Chase Atlantic that Win swore he would always love could compare to how he felt when he woke up next to Team.
Team's hair would always be messy and his face would always look angelic like he was the purest person to have ever existed on this planet and for Win, Team was his best person.
There was something so intimate about looking at your loved one when they were at their most vulnerable state and that too, a person like Team- someone who had felt so distant to Win did not seem distant anymore. Somehow, the boy who had scary nightmares and the boy who was scared to just be was lying on the bed with him- peaceful and lovely and Win knew that he had a role to play in it.
It really meant a lot to him. Team must have trusted him a lot even though Win always thought Team didn't trust him- Team kind of actually did and maybe Team didn't know about it himself but that was fine with Win.
And then, he finally saw Team stir in his sleep. It was 10 am on a Sunday morning and it was only natural that he was waking up. Team still didn't sleep for a very long period of time, just getting 4-5 hours of sleep was a lot for him.
He opened his eyes slowly and he saw Win already looking at him.
"Good morning." Win spoke.
"Hey." Win rolled his eyes playfully. Replying with 'hey' to his 'good morning' was such a Team thing to do.
Team stretched his body and then, yawned while Win just looked at him.
"Stop staring at me hia Win, you know that I get insecure."
"You just have to get used to it."
"It is embarrassing!" Team said- his voice was whinier than before and a few decibels up.
"It shouldn't be, you know."
"Why not?"
"Because you know how I feel about you so you don't have to be insecure, like ever."
"Like never?"
"Never."
"Even when I look like shit?"
"Team..... you never look like shit."
Team snorted.
"I think I will never get used to this." Team sighed as he looked up at the ceiling.
"To what?"
"Being happy." Team turned to look at Win and Win knew how much that meant to him. He suddenly had the urged to cry but instead, he just shook his head.
"I mean, of course, I have been happy. I was happy when I watched cheesy kdramas, I was happy when I listened to good music, I was happy when I ate good food but this is different because I'm really.... happy because something great is happening to me. I know it probably doesn't make any sense but I'm just.... happy?"
"I'm happy too."
"Well that's all that matters."
That's all what mattered to Win.

"I got a call from Pearl yesterday."
"You did?"
"Yes. She's coming to visit me here."
"Damn Win. Didn't you two fight last time you were together?"
"Dean, it is over and done with. She's my friend now. In fact, I've talked to her a lot these past few months."
"Your friend? Win, she was a lot more."
"We never dated, what are you talking about?"
"You know what I mean. Don't pretend to be clueless."
No, Pearl was only a friend to Win. Okay, she was someone he had slept with in the past. She was someone who he had slept with a lot in the past but Win never really felt anything for her so it didn't matter to him. Win didn't get what Dean was talking about.
He remembered how much fun they used to have when they were in high school. She was a really good friend to him but then she had to do what she did. But then, they were fine again so it really didn't matter.
Dean only gave him a worrying look.
He probably should've paid more heed to Dean that day.
