A few days later
It was crazy how so much had changed in Team's life and what was crazier was that all that change was for good. At the moment, Win was reading a book while Team's head was on his lap. The sun rays fell right on Team's face and he felt cosy, warm and comfortable. His eyes were half lidded as a result of how sleepy he was getting by the minute.
"You can sleep on the bed if you want," He heard the voice he had grown so familiar with and his lips curved up into a lazy smile that reached his eyes. He looked up to see strands of blonde hair which appeared to be sparkling because of the sun.
Team shook his head, not really wanting to speak. A second later, he felt a hand on his head and then the same hand ruffling his hair making them messier than before. Team just hummed as he felt the older's finger's run through his hair in the similar pattern that he had come to recognise by now.
In that moment, Team knew that he'd never feel the same way for anyone else. It was just the way it was. If they ever break up (which Team found out was a very painful thing to think about and made his chest hurt) he would never love the same way again because for him, no one else could compare to Win. With someone else, it would just not be the same but Team didn't have to think about that stuff because he had him now and the certainty of the present made it all worth it.
"Hey. You want to eat something?" Win asked after a few minutes.
"No." Team finally spoke. It was still the sunny afternoon of a Sunday and he wanted to rest more.
"But you love food."
"Yeah but I love you more."
It took less than half a second for Team to realise what he had said. His eyes widened as he put his hand over his mouth and immediately sat up.
Instead of seeing a smirking Win like he was expecting, he saw a Win with his eyes wide and it seemed as if he too was registering the younger's words, that just gave Team the upper hand in the situation.
"I mean.....it is true. I do love you." He finally said it. Instead of feeling scared or nervous, all Team felt was satisfaction. It was the truth, after all and even if Win won't say it back, it would still be the truth.
"I love you too."
And then, he felt the touch of his lips on his own - not fast but slow and steady like he was trying to take his time with Team, like he knew that Team wasn't going anywhere, like Win knew that he had already lost to Team since the moment he met him for the first time.
There was no rush because time had stopped for both Win and Team.
When they pulled apart, Win just gave him an eye smile and then there was silence for a bit which Team thought was their way to process things.
"Can I lie down again?"
He didn't wait for Win's response as he made himself comfortable once again. He didn't expect everything to be so easy but it was. He didn't expect to be brutally honest with his feelings but he was and it was possible only because of the true love he felt right in his bones.
But after a quick realisation, he sat up again.
"That day.... when you texted me and I didn't reply to you, it was because home reminds me of my brother a-and I just felt so sad and insecure because I feel like.... everyone I love leaves me in the end s-so I thought you'd do the same."
"-and I feel so guilty because I g-get to live every single day while he doesn't. Everyone in my family says how lucky I am to be alive while he is not but the truth is I'd rather he'd be alive than me because it's hard to grow up without the person who was and is a part of you."
"Team......" Win hugged Team and tears strolled down his face the way they always did but at least, he felt at peace for once. Things might be heavy but with Win by his side, Team felt a little less sad and a little more happy.
"I will never leave you because I love you very much. I have never felt this way about someone else and I know that I never will. I seriously mean it Team. I will never ever ever leave you."
And that was all it took for Team to trust him completely, maybe even more than how much he trusted himself.
