Life was never easy for Team. In fact, life was always more of a battlefield than anything else. Team had already decided the path of his life years ago. He would be alone forever. He would wake up to no one and he would go to work alone and eat his meals alone but something or more specifically someone got him off track. Of course, his relationship with Win had been anything but easy but at the end of the day, he wouldn't have it any other way. Of course, his relationship with Win would be complicated. It wouldn't come to him easily. He had to fight for it but it was also pre-destined.
To even have a chance to fight for something so beautiful, to even have the courage to want someone so ethereal had been in his destiny unbeknownst to him and that made all the difference in his world.
Team loved the red string theory. He told Pharm and Dean about it too. They believed it even though it was a little too cheesy for the average person's liking. Team liked to believe that there's a string connecting him to Win as well. It's not a red string, it's golden. It connected him to Win when they didn't even know each other and it connected them now when they belonged to each other. That meant everything to Team. Everything he suffered for, every night he couldn't sleep, every day he cried and felt suffocated faded into dark in comparison to what he had with Win now. Nothing else mattered. All his pain and his nightmares, everything was so easy to tolerate with Win by his side because he knew no matter how bad the nightmare had been, he would open his eyes and find Win by his side stroking his hair and smiling down at him like his angel. The one who gave him a reason for everything. The one who gave meaning to his life. The one who turned his dark grey skies into hues of purple and pink.
When he woke up early in the morning, Win was already beside him sleeping peacefully. Team wondered how many times Win woke up to see Team like that. He no longer doubted Win's love for him, all his insecurities and demons fell short compared to Win's love. Of course, he still had his anxieties and issues but now he was willing to fight them. He was even considering seeing a therapist. He wanted to be the best version of himself because the man beside him deserved it and he himself too, deserved it. He deserved his own forgiveness and kindness and he wanted to work for it.
Team knew they were going to face challenges and run into closed doors but Team was going to hold Win's hand and face the storms. They were going to fight it- whatever 'it' is together and although most things in the world don't have an answer, Team knew the answer to his life was Win and he would always be that even at the worst of times.
Team gently ran his hands through Win's hair and in a few seconds, Win's fluttered open. "Good morning," Win spoke.
"Good morning, hia."
"C'mere."
Team slipped into the sheets with Win and Win kissed his forehead and then his lips. Team sighed in satisfaction and elation.
"I love you, Team."
"I love you too."
