BROKEN BENCH.
1774, SEPTEMBER 26th MONDAY 10:45am.
From the ground Noche could see Rust was horrified. He was so stunned, his mouth hung open. Him, a General of Cross... One so old, he's probably experienced more than any other remaining member of Cross. Noche watched as the color drained from his face. She also took notice of the Grave brothers, whose smiles widened as they stood out of Rust's eyesight.
"You should'va been a bloodstain on a wire hanger!"Hectare shouted.
"BRUH! That's too far!" Mary shouted
"She attacked me!"
Noche stood back up and started to walked towards Hectare; her anger not extinguished.
"I'll fucking kill you." Noche grumbled.
"I didn't cheat and you need to fuck off!" He said, "Even if I did, this is Cross! Do you think anyone will care about cheating when you're on a life or death mission?"
"I mean... That's true and all, but-" Mary said.
"Nobody asked you Mary!" Noche snapped, "Not everybody has time here to waste!"
Mary was apparently caught off guard by the sudden outburst, she took a step back. Hectare walked beside her and placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Thank you, Mary."
"Y-yeah, no problem."
Alice stared at Hectare's hand, then turned to Noche.
"Butt face."
"Good one Alice." Mary said.
Noche felt her anger start to simmer down as she saw President Medusa walking down the hill. Soon she had approached the group.
"I heard a commotion, what's going on?" Medusa asked.
The Grave brothers approached.
"Noche and Hectare broke Rusts bench."
Medusa's face was blank for a moment. Then she took in a deep breath, paused, and held her forehead.
"Rust... are you ok?"
"Yesh... Lady Medusha..." He said sullenly, "HI'll be halright..."
"Would you like the day off."
"No... HIt's qhuite halright... HI jhust... HI'll need to go inshide."
"Come on Rust," The Grave brothers said, "We'll take you."
"Thanksh ol chapsh."
The three of them walked up the hill as Medusa snapped towards the students.
"ALRIGHT! Noche! Hectare! Here! Now!"
The two of them approached.
"One at a time... I want both of you to tell me why this happened."
Having calmed down, and from the guilt of seeing Rust's melancholic face, Noche reflected upon what happened. She didn't know for sure that Hectare cheated. Her gut told her it was him, but she didn't actually see him untie her laces. With a sigh, she knew what she had to do, and stepped forward.
"It... was my fault." She said, "I provoked Hectare because I was anxious, and thought he was cheating... Because of it he launched me into the bench in self-defense."
"She's right." He said, "It is her fault."
Noche gave Hectare a sharp glance, then turned back to Medusa.
