Epics of Noche 1, Anchor

EON CH 52

WRITTEN TEST.

1774, SEPTEMBER 26th MONDAY 1:00pm.

Standing outside the closed classroom door Noche couldn't help but bite her lip. In a matter of seconds, the most important aspect of the exam was about to begin. Noche drastically failed the physical portion, but that was ok. She never really expected her body to physically recover in time for the exam. From the beginning, even though she hoped otherwise, a small part of her was prepared to fail that bit. The real test started now. The written portion.

It was the written that would make or break her. A perfect score on the scantron would mean automatically passing the entire exam. Even if she failed the physical and tournament portions, the perfect score would allow her to graduate. This was the most important part of the exam... That's why she spent every waking moment reading the books instead of physically training. She had to score all one hundred questions correctly. She had to be perfect.

The doors opened and Noche felt the saliva rush down her throat. This was it, her true trial. One by one, every student entered the classroom. Noche's skin prickled when Alice entered; Cherries placed his hand on Noche's shoulder. Alice walked past them both, as if she had completely forgotten about her previous hysteria. Noche cautiously lowered her guard.

            Varen snuck up behind Cherries and picked him up in a tight hug.

"You look barely ready for today's test!"

Noche groaned.

"Yes, yes!" Cherries laughed, "Put me down."

"ALRIGHT!" The Grave brothers looked up from their documents, "Test time!"

They handed out the packets to each student.

"Welcome to the written portion. To pass this exam you need to score over seventy-five percent. If you manage to get one hundred percent, then you pass the entire exam." They said, "This test will cover everything you learned in class this year. There is eighty multiple choice, ten short answer, five long answers and a bonus question Medusa herself forced us to include."

This was it, a wave of nausea rolled over Noche. The pencil in her hand wouldn't stop tapping the desk. The world began to spin, she had to focus, this was the real exam. Stay! Focused! 

"BEGIN!"

Noche threw the packet opened and gazed at the first question.

Question 1: Volfs are a genetically modified wolves known for their four eyes and powerful venom. How does the venom take effect, what are its effects, and how long does it take to display symptoms?

"The venom is in their saliva. Normally it enters the bloodstream via bite, but it can affect the body at a slow pace through skin contact. The effect is full body paralysis, its non-lethal, and antidotes have almost instantaneous effects."

Noche pencil stopped moving after writing her answer.

"Volfs." Noche paused, "That creature... Feels so familiar. Why does that make me think of a bear man?"

Question 2: If you forcefully recover Drive energy and immediately use Create, what happens?

"Pssh, easy." Noche muttered.

Noche bubbled in you'll damage your organs and suffer internal bleeding. Her hand found her way to her throat, she could still feel the spot that burst when she attempted just that. Hairs pricked on Noche's neck, she looked up to the Grave brothers watching her. They looked away as soon as she made eye contact with them.
