NEVER HAD ONE BEFORE.

1774, OCTOBER 02nd Sunday 1:00 am.

Tak's eyes went wide. His mouth opened and closed, but all that came out was unintelligible gibberish; Noche raised an eyebrow and smiled.

"Do you want to be friends?"

"Y-Yes!" He shouted, "S-Sorry, yes."

Noche chuckled.

She walked over to the living room and picked up his book.

"The modern prometheus, huh?" She said. "What's it about?"

"S-Sorry, its uhh... Its about a lonely soul who everyone treats like a monster," Tak's voice lowered. "Even when he didn't do anything wrong. They hated him simply for existing."

Noche frowned as Tak continued to speak.

"Sometimes, I pretend we'd meet. Share gifts... B-Become friends," he said.

Silence filled the room. Noche raised her hand and prismatic energy became a pair of headphones.

"Consider it from me," Noche said.

"S-Sorry, what!"

"Take it." She said. "We have a long journey ahead and, trust me on this, you'll want tunes."

He did and the scarf couldn't hide the red tinting his cheeks.

"Dude are you ok?" Noche asked. "Don't act like this is the best gift you've ever received."

"I've never had one before," he muttered.

"What, a pair of headphones?"

Noche scoffed as Tak's eyes shimmered.

"A friend."

Noche eyes widened. Completely disarmed by what he said. Tak began to shake and little pools of blue trailed down his pale face.

"I-I don't want to be alone anymore," Tak sniffled.

Noche frowned, looked side to side, then walked up to Tak with stiff arms and pat his head.

"There, there? It's alright. No need to cry," Noche's voice lowered. "Man, I have no idea what I'm doing."

She did what she did the last time he got watery eyed. Noche awkwardly gave him a hug and rubbed his head. When he calmed down and looked away, Noche let out a silent, exhausted breath and widened her eyes.

"So. Give me a tour of your home." Noche said.

"S-Sorry, sorry, sure."

Tak led her throughout the house, starting with the massive library that left her jaw-dropped. Then to the kitchen, where they slid on the floor, through the living room, bathroom, the attic, his dad's room, and finally Mr. Chonkie's room. He picked up the stuffed penguin, squeezed it with all his might, and continued to hug it as he finished the tour. Only putting him down when they sat at the dining room table.

"So when's your dad coming home?"

"S-Sorry... I don't know."

"Well he better hurry. I need to take you back to Cross," She said.

The two of them sat at a table in silence for a long time. Thunder reverberated in the ancient wood of the house.

"Well. Its still storming," Noche muttered. "Maybe he's waiting for it to die down."

Noche rolled four dice with six sides.

"Ok, now we drop the lowest number. Now add the three that remain... Are you sure you want to play wizard?"
