How far would you go to NEVER fail again?
This question will push Noche L. Grim to the test as she attempts to join the Cross Military. With their resources she intends to find DeathTech and recover her memories.
However, when she lives on a conti...
Two long 16-gauge needles, both embedded into some sort of gun-shaped machine, hovered above the jugular vein on a black woman's neck. One vial was filled with bright red blood, the other was empty. Without hesitation, she jammed the machine onto her skin. With the way it was designed, it accurately and precisely sent both needles into the vein. This pain was familiar to the point where she didn't register it. The bright red blood was injected, while the other vial withdrew a darker red-violet blood.
Then the machine was withdrawn, the empty vial disposed, and her rubber gloves removed. She held up the vial of red-violet blood and inspected it thoroughly. Removing the cap, she poured some powder into the vial, resealed it, and then shook. The vial was then placed into a cold container inside a pumpkin-themed sling bag.
As blood started to leak from the dual wounds on her neck that resembled a vampire bite, she quickly created and applied a bandage. It always bothered her she was forced to do these injections solely in the neck. It was incredibly dangerous. She could bleed out, blow a vein, hit a carotid artery, get thrombosis or blood clot, pneumothorax A.K.A. collapsed lung, endocarditis E.G. heart infection, sepsis or blood infection, Etc.
That's why she forced herself to learn hematology ever since she was five years old. At first, she was really bad at it and knew only simple things; like blood does not actually turn blue from lack of oxygen. However, she stayed determined and continued to study hard as she grew older. She would like to believe after all these years, she had become pretty decent at it.
Still, she had to do this EVERY DAY, and each time she raised a needle the thought of a single mistake scared her. That's why she used such a fancy precise machine... Expensive too. With the entire operation done, she looked up into the public bathroom's mirror.
Her eyes were nearly solid black. Rather she had solid black sclera, but a warm brown iris that was nearly orange, and black pupils. Her expression was tired and she had some bags under her eyes. She had afro hair, with three fake straightened ponytail extensions held on by pumpkin clips. For her shirt, it was a black long-sleeve t-shirt whose sleeves were striped with orange bands. As for pants, she wore khakis with orange jack-o-lanterns designs at the bottom of each leg. Her right leg had the word PUM and her left leg KIN written poorly in black-marker; the word pumpkin being misspelled.

Looking over her appearance, she leaned in forward and stared intently at her eyes. Then she smiled to look at her teeth. Her canines were slightly sharp, but not unnaturally so or anything. It had nothing to do with her disease. No, she had to blame her dad's genetics for that. Still with the two needle holes on her neck, nearly solid-black eyes, and sharp cuspids... She did look vampire-ish... She guessed.
