(Chapter 31) Trust

Minnie felt that hard pang on her heart as she saw what was unveiling in front of her. She felt like all her strength had been lost but then....

She heard footsteps heading to her direction.

"Hey, what was that loud noi-" Jennie was about to enter the lounge as she finished fixing her shoelaces but as Minnie heard her voice she turned to grab the older to not witness the scene she had seen.

"Why are you dragging me away?" Jennie retaliated when Minnie grabbed both of her shoulders to make her turn to the other direction.

"The sound could've been something dangerous, let's just go." Minnie held Jennie's wrist to move away from the scene.

"Let's just check it just in case." Jennie was extremely curious about that loud thud, and with her strength she dragged Minnie to the lounge's direction.

"N-no... Something must've happened ther-" Minnie wanted to stop Jennie from seeing the two as they arrived....

"Oh hey Lisa! Hey Mira!" Jennie greeted the two happily which were now far away from each other.

"E-eonnie, you guys were here?" I stuttered at the sentence fully nervous knowing that Minnie might have seen us.

"Yeah, we just got here, did you guys hear the loud noise too?" Jennie innocently went closer to me.

"Oh that noise.... Umm.... I just knocked the chair down... Haha." Even my chuckle sounds so dry. How can I lie like this to them?

I turned to Minnie who was not saying anything. She was staring at me with that unreadable look on her face. I couldn't tell what she was thinking.

Did she see us?

Is she mad?

What should I do?

Should I apologize?

Don't stare at me like that Kim Minnie, I might think of scenarios in my brain that leads to me panicking again.

I was struggling with her stare but she suddenly smiled slightly at me.

"Were any of you hurt?" Minnie asked.

I internally sighed in relief knowing that she didn't witness that scene.

"Aniyo.. we're both okay." Lisa has finally said a word because she has kept silent since the two have arrived. 

Minnie smiled at her. "That's good then, did you two find some of the coins around here?"

Lisa finally relaxed. "Yeah, we found all of the coins here."

"That's a waste then, we came here for nothing." Jennie said.

"It's okay, let's just search through another place." Minnie turns to her partner.

"Hey!" We turned to the direction of the voice coming from the lounge door.

We knew that we heard Yuqi's loud and deep voice yelling to us.

"The treasure hunt is finished, you guys need to go back to the dining hall!" Yuqi jogged towards us.

"Really? That was fast." Jennie smiled at Yuqi as she went near us.

"Let's go, I can't wait to get my helicopter ride." Yuqi said and dragged me and Jennie with her.

Lisa was about to follow us but Minnie held her left shoulder making Lisa face her.
