Okay, there's a very important announcement I need to tell everyone. I'm starting to lose interest in Camp Camp and Harrison and am moving onto other things. I will still be posting chapters, just less often. Maybe only 500 words minimum a week instead. I've just been preoccupied with a lot of stuff recently.
Thanks again to @BluTheWeirdo101 for letting me use her OC, Daisy! The Daisy in this story is based on her appearance, but not really personality.
Also, sorry for the late upload, I had to go to my little cousin's birthday party and I couldn't access my computer from there. :P
Y/N's P.O.V.
The girl's black hair is tied up in a tight, high ponytail. Her light lavender hoodie looks fluffy and warm. Her glasses are thin and large, to accommodate for her large, puppy eyes.
I watch as she gingerly steps out of the large bus. She gazes lightly around the area, realizing quickly that this isn't what she signed up for. The bus drives away before she can even take all of it in. Her once slightly-optimistic smile becomes distraught and somber. She slowly turns her head to David, who cheers, "Well hello new camper! You must be Daisy! I'm David!".
He throws his arm forward for a handshake. Daisy shakes his hand with a soft, cautious touch. Daisy, huh? I think, taking in the new kid's name.
Daisy asks in almost a whisper, "Where am I?".
David replies, "You signed up for Music Camp, right? Welcome to Camp Campell!".
Daisy, who is now very confused, questions, "Wait. What?".
David ignores her question and instead goes on a tangent about how great this place is. The semi-tall girl looks around again and we make eye contact. I wave and give a smile. She gives up on trying to get answers out of Counselor David and just walks over to me.
She gets to me and asks, "What is this place?".
I tell her, "This is just a Camp Camp. It's a bunch of different camps placed together. It's probably not legal, but I'm not a lawyer."
Daisy's eyes widen in realization and she nods her head in understanding. She asks, "Can you show me around?".
I look at the rest of The Outcasts. Harrison shrugs, Nerris starts to speak, but gets cut off by Preston, who screams, "A new companion that can be a part of our group?!".
Nerris complains, "Rude much?!".
She turns to me and Daisy and cheers, "A new member for our party is always welcome!".
I look at Daisy and tell her, "Yeah sure!".
Daisy smiles and I ask, "Where do you wanna go first?".
She tells me, "Hmm. How about Music Camp?".
I nod and we all begin to walk there. I hear a bit of commotion as we walk.
"You know it's rude to interrupt, Preston!".
"But I'm the one who has to deal with words! I'm the one that's supposed to talk first! I'm the diplomat!".
"No! That's my thing! I'm the one who's supposed to communicate! I'm the one with The Scroll of Inter-Dialect Communication! It gives me +5 Dexterity points for Charisma!".
"NO ONE UNDERSTOOD A WORD YOU JUST SAID!!".
"IT MEANS I CAN SAY THINGS BETTER THAN YOU!!".
"YOUR ARGUMENT WOULD'VE WORKED BETTER IF YOU USED BETTER WORDING!!".
"You know what? Let's let our leader decide!".
I abruptly stop us. They all shut up as I turned to face Preston and Nerris. I tell them, "No. We're not having this. We can't be bickering like this. There is no 'Word Guy' or 'Diplomat'. Just like how I'm not the leader! Preston, just apologize for interrupting. She's not gonna give it up. Make it, at least, sound sincere."
Preston begrudgingly apologizes, "I'm sorry for interrupting you earlier. I won't hurt your feelings like that again."
I nod my head, "Good."
I see Nerris give a shit-eating smirk. I get mad. Like, dude, you got your way, just accept it. I command, "Nerris, apologize to the rest of us for not just letting it go. We could've been to the Music Camp by now if you'd just accepted that Preston cut in line. It was a single moment, you didn't need to make it seem like he always does this. Now please, say sorry for bringing us down."
Nerris seems pissed, but complies, "Okay. I'm sorry to everyone for making a big deal out of it."
I become satisfied with this and ask, "Good. Now, Is there anything anyone would like to add? Any input that would help?".
No response. I start walking to Music Camp. The others follow. Daisy steps up to my side. She reeks of roses and sweet candy. I don't know why, but she just sets something off in me. I just can't put my finger on it. She feels almost artificial. Daisy asks, "Does that happen often?".
I inform her, "No. That was the first real fight we had. We're a pretty new group, though."
Daisy nods in understanding. I don't like her. She seems ingenuine for some reason. I understand that she's probably pissed, but why does she seem mad at me?
I bring her to the Music Camp and she immediately walks away. It looks rough, to say the least. A video recorder, a torn-up notepad, and a microphone for the recorder lay on the table. That's it? There's barely anything!
I understand her pain. I went through something similar only a few weeks ago. I tell the others, "I need to talk to Daisy. Help her process things. I'll be right back."
I jog up to her, "I know it's not much-".
She shoves me back, "I noticed! I thought I could finally have some time to do what I love! What am I supposed to do with a microphone and a tape recorder? That isn't what I signed up for! I was promised a place where I would be helped! Not this bullshit! WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A FUCKING FOREST FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!! What are we supposed to do here?".
I try to calm her down, "Look, I know you're upset and very pissed. Let's just walk back to the camp and we can talk?".
"I don't want anything to do with that place! I want to go home! I want to leave this place and go back home!".
"I understand your anger. I had to face something similar-"
"YOU DON'T KNOW HOW THIS FEELS!!".
"Betrayal? Anger? Like someone had done an injustice? Like there's a wrong that needs to be right?".
She takes a few moments to breathe, calms down, and realizes her outburst. She apologizes.
I tell her, "You don't need to apologize for that. I know how seeing the camp for the first time can be offputting. Let's just walk to the cafeteria. We can talk there."
"...Okay."
Daisy pulls her hood over her head, trying to hide her face from the world. I walk past the group while we're walking. Nerris walks up to me, "What happened?".
I tell her, "I'm just gonna talk to Daisy in the cafeteria for a moment. This will take a little longer than expected. You guys can go do whatever."
Nerris nods and walks back to the rest of the group to inform them of what I had told her. I'm glad they figured out a system of order after that whole mess. I don't know how I'd talk to those two at the same time.
