All good things must come to an end.
Even you.
Even I.
Even for what we all worked for.
Everything good must come to an end.

I opened my eyes slowly, flashes of memories going through my mind. I shot open my eyes looking around, my heart racing. Duncan. What had happened after that nuke hit? I remember...losing control of my flux. Right after they'd stabbed him. He'd pushed my out of the way...
then boom.
just like that he was gone.
I staggered to my feet, noticing I was just above a crater, I saw a small figure, glowing faint purple in the middle. I paled and darted down, ignoring my bleeding wounds and bruises. I finally reached him, Duncan's lab coat was torn to shreds, his hair scorched and his skin was burned. One of his eyes...oh no. I lifted him up and slowly made our way to Hannah and Nilesy's base. I managed to knock on their door and whispering: "Help" before passing out.
~~~~~
All good things...must come to an end.
Even love
Even hope
It will all soon and sadly end.
It had been three weeks since the war had ended. Duncan was in a coma, with a missing eye, scars all up and down his body. His bruises and minor cuts had healed. But...some things you can't get back. I was lucky. I escaped with only minor damage and a broken wrist and leg.
Hannah came slowly downstairs, looking at me with a weak smile. "He's awake." I smile greatly and get up, making my way upstairs and seeing him sitting up in bed, his eye patch over his eye, his coat removed and a few bandages around some areas.
"Hey Nano." I smile and walk over and sit down. "Hey Duncan." I say softly. He takes my hand, holding it tightly. "You doing okay?" I ask. He shrugs, "As good as I'll ever be." he says. I smile and lean close to him, he leans in as well.
And for the first time in what seemed like forever, I felt a firework go off.
~~~
All good things must come to an end.
Sometimes though
Something better comes out of it.
