Kakashi was having the best time of his life.  They had managed to keep their relationship a secret, for the most part, for the last three months.  Sasuke knew but true to his word, he had not told anyone including his wife. Shikamaru was suspicious, but they had managed to pull the wool over his eyes all this time.  That was fun in and of itself.  Anytime he showed up to take his "friend" to lunch or popped in to visit, Shikamaru's dark eyes would narrow on him.  Considering he was the only one that lingered about her, he had figured out if anyone was the culprit it was him but there was no proof.  He would even make attempts to pop in when they were in her office, but Kakashi's better than normal hearing was always one step ahead of him. Sarah had been out with Sakura several times since their last meeting at the restaurant, and she was also still trying to matchmake her to him.  Sarah had admitted to feeling bad about keeping her in the dark, but she kept her mouth shut to her credit and... It had actually become almost like a game keeping everyone in the dark.

The only one who was becoming a bit of a nuisance was Might Guy.  Kakashi was almost tempted to beat his ass.  Anytime that Sarah was out and about, he somehow always managed to appear in her sphere.  He was following her around like a lost puppy dog and continually trying to get her to let him take her out.  Sarah, in his opinion, wasn't taking the advances seriously enough.  She seemed to find it humorous and on top of it, she thought he was just being nice!  He was being a pain in the ass.  He couldn't even go out with her without Guy showing up and disrupting their time together.

Sarah was blossoming right before his eyes.  Their daily training regimen had progressed quickly and her skill with the Kunai now was exceptional considering how short a period she had been training.  The extra weight she had was almost completely gone now after the intense workout sessions each morning... as well as the "sparring" in the night.  She was fast, very fast now.  He suspected she could keep pace with a Chunin at this point using Taijutsu.  He was ready to start seeing if she could use Ninjutsu.  He had a feeling she would be able to do it, she just needed to be unlocked.  He was determined to do just that.  He had been tossing around a few ideas in his head as to how to help her access that part of herself.  It would be different than it was for those from his world.  Accessing abilities were like second nature in their world, children barely walking displayed their natures.  There wasn't a time in their lives that they weren't aware of their Chakra.  Again, he puzzled over Sarah's world... he was convinced that they had at one time been just as in tune but somehow...along the way they had lost that connection.

They saw one another often but were always careful to look like two friends.  The nights though... He snuck in by her balcony or she would take a "jog" to his neighborhood.  Neither slept alone, ever.  Either he was with her or she with him.  He was beginning to forget what it was like being alone for so long.  Of course, every so often he would catch her in a remote place or behind closed doors.  He could not get enough of her.  They had even done it once in her office only a few feet from Naruto's office.  That had been a bit exciting.  They had only just straightened themselves up and separated when the door opened and Shikamaru came in.  He gave them a suspicious look but didn't say anything.  They had laughed later about how close that time had been.

He was starting to get restless, though, with the hide and seek game.  He wanted everyone to know she was his and his alone.  Especially Might Guy.  He wanted everyone to see his marks on her neck that she had to wrap up daily.  Not that those were the only marks... he grinned almost wolfishly thinking about how her body was literally marked all over all the time.  It made him hard just thinking about those marks hidden beneath her clothes and continual scarfs.  There was no denying, even to himself, that he was becoming more and more possessive over her.

Kakashi had to admit, he was in love with her.  He had not told her, but she had not told him either.  At least, not since her little slip that one morning.  It was bound to come out eventually, though, because the more time they spent together the more he felt their connection deepen.  He could now tell what she was thinking just by a look, and it seemed, it was the same for her.  He loved her more every day and even when they were apart, his mind was with her.  He didn't need anyone to tell him that she was the one he wanted to be with for the rest of his life.  Which made it even more imperative that she get going on learning Ninjutsu so he could just come out with it already.  He was ready to make it a more permanent affair.  He wanted to make her his wife!
