Sarah grunted as she hit the ground hard, not for the first time, and barely managed to roll out of the way of the leg that had been intent on splitting the ground with her body. She had been training with Sasuke for a week and her body was covered in bruises and cuts. He had insisted that they train not only in the morning but also in the evenings. She felt like she was preparing for war with the intensity of the sparring she had with Sasuke. She had thought Kakashi was a hard task master, but Sasuke gave new meaning to the word hard... and pain. He didn't pull any punches, which was why she was like one walking bruise.
Sasuke had determined after using his eyes to search her body that she was capable of doing Ninjutsu, but the learning was slow. She was having a hard time grasping the concept of accessing the chakra to employ Ninjutsu. It still seemed quite ethereal to her at this point. She was beginning to wonder if she was just too old to learn such a skill. She could not quite figure out how to activate something that she could not quite feel or that she could not see.
She tried to dodge the next hit but ended up taking it square to the jaw. The power of it flipped her end over end and she could taste blood in her mouth. She braced for the impact of the ground, but it never came as Sasuke's Susanoo hand grabbed her from the air. She did grunt as she felt it then slam her against the tree and hold her there.
Sarah felt her anger brimming and she narrowed her eyes on him. "That was a bit uncalled for," she snapped out before spitting the blood in her mouth out. "I swear, you're enjoying knocking me around."
Sasuke smirked, "Does that make you angry? You're weak and if someone was to attack you, you would not survive it. You're not angry enough. I can see what is in you, Sarah, and you're holding it back. That darkness that is in you, you know what I'm talking about, it is what will give you your strength, but you have to embrace it as part of who you are. Stop denying part of yourself. It serves you no purpose burying it. You lost your husband. You lost your child. Instead of raging out, you buried it deep but rage... anger... it is just as much a part of you as joy and laughter. To deny it is to deny being human. It makes you weak."
"I hate you," she growled.
"Then hit me!" He yelled at her before tossing her to the side.
Sasuke watched as instead of slamming into the ground as she would have done, she actually caught herself. Her feet skidding across the ground. He could see the chakra building up in her feet as she moved. His lips twitched up on one side as he saw the anger in her eyes before she started coming at him. He would give her credit, no matter how hard he hit her she would get back up and keep coming. She would not stop until she was physically unable to, and it was something that he admired about her. It was an unbending will. It was no doubt that will was what had hooked Kakashi.
He stilled as she ran towards him. He could see the chakra in her body moving in a new way, building up at a rather impressive rate. He could feel wind suddenly increase in pitch at her approach and he was stunned as her eyes suddenly changed, turning into a glowing blue. They almost looked like they had a blue flame inside of them. She jumped into the air and her hands started to glow as she reared her fist back to strike. He threw up a shield at the last moment and an explosion slammed him back. He back flipped and crouched, catching the backwards momentum with his hands in the ground. She had been thrown back in the opposite direction. Deep grooves were in the ground from where she had landed with her feet as she was sent backwards. He couldn't stop the grin that crossed his face as he looked at her. Finally, she had unlocked her Ninjutsu.
Sarah was breathing hard as she looked at him, her eyes still glowing blue. It was eyes unlike any he had ever seen. Wind nature, that was definite going off the strong current sailing around him at the moment. Yet... the flow of chakra he was watching in her body and the eyes that were burning like blue fire was different. He moved his hair so that he could pierce her with his Rinnegan. There was no doubt, it was a Kekkei Genkai. A Dojutsu for sure but not only had her eyes had changed. He could see two chakra natures brewing inside. Wind and Water. That was not something he had expected or anticipated. The flow of her chakra was also different than those of his world. What powers did she receive in this awakening?
