Sarah stared dubiously at her almost flat stomach as the specialist prepared the ultrasound to take a look at what was going on.  It did not seem possible that she was pregnant.  Surely the blood work was wrong.  She had no symptoms at all, which was a complete reversal from her first pregnancy.  There was a tiny bump, but she had attributed that to the fat she had slowly been losing since training.  A last stubborn bit of flesh that she had not gotten rid of yet... or possibly would never get rid of since she had been chunky for a good length of time before coming to this world.

"Have you had any morning sickness?"  The specialist asked.

"No, no symptoms at all."

"You've been pregnant before?"

"Yes, and I was super sick the first few months," she nodded, bracing herself to be told that the blood work had been wrong.  It would be too big of a miracle in her opinion.  She shifted her eyes towards her husband.  She wanted to be pregnant with his child, she really did.  He was the last of his line.  The Hatake's should live on, not disappear forever.  Despite the pain it caused, she bit her lower lip and silently prayed that this was a miracle.

Kakashi had managed to convince them to wheel him down the hallway for the ultrasound.  He had looked exhausted by the time he had got into the wheelchair, but he was determined to come along.  To see his child for the first time.  It was something he was going to miss because of his injuries.  He could sleep the rest of the day away, right now he wanted to see the child growing in his wife's stomach.  He had put his mask back on prior to being wheeled down the hallway.  He was eyeing the equipment and leaning forward with his chin on the tips of his fingers with an almost nervous energy that she was able to pick up on.

"When was your last monthly?"

Sarah felt her face turn red in embarrassment.  "I don't remember.  I wasn't paying attention to it at all. I honestly didn't think I would ever be pregnant again."

The Specialist shook his head then gave a sigh.  "Okay, guess we are all in for a surprise then."

He placed the ultrasound on her belly, and she flinched at the cold tip.  Her torso was bruised all up from the multiple hits she had taken, if she was pregnant the first doctor was correct.  It was amazing she had not lost the child.  She felt guilt riding on her as she thought about it.  She had never gotten pregnant easily and this child was possibly the last chance they would have to be parents together.

After moving it around a little the specialist smiled, "Ah, there they are.  Trying to hide from us, are you?"

Sarah gaped at him, "They?"

"You're going to have twins," he replied with a chuckle before pointing at the monitor.  "Baby A and Baby B."

Kakashi gave out a long breath, his eyes wide.  Sarah felt his amazement, shared it even, as she stared at the two small babies on the monitor.  Her eyes burned as she looked at them.  They were so small, more like little peanuts.  She felt a giddiness roll through her and the desire to reach out and touch them was almost overwhelming.  She already loved them both greatly.

"Looks like you're not quite two months along," he said after doing a few measurements.  "You are fortunate you did not lose them.  It is still quite early and most likely why you haven't had any of the usual symptoms yet."

He then turned on some audio and the dual heartbeats filled the room.  Sarah felt moisture rolling over her cheeks as she covered her mouth.  She knew without a doubt the day she got pregnant.  It was the day that Naruto had discovered them.  She knew it with every fiber of her being.  Their secret would have been out eventually even if he had not caught them.  A sense of everything had happened as was meant to be rolled over her, a ting in her spirit and chakra.  This was why she had been brought here.  To be with Kakashi and to bring these two children into this world.  For whatever reason, it was important.  She was certain of that.
