"aren't you still engaged. What would people think if they find out you're trying to get close to Dr. Seo"
"I'm not trying to do anything."
"I'm just saying... Woo-jin doesn't know what he wants right now."
"I'm sorry, I'm not sure why you're telling me this when I do not care about Dr. Seo."
"Well, it doesn't look like that"
"yeah, well you don't look ignorant, but I guess you can't judge a book by it's cover, right?
"What did you just say to me, Maya?"
"It's Nurse Anderson to you. Instead of worrying about others taking Dr.Seo from you, you should make sure he's yours to begin with"
I sat in the chair watching as Dr. Lee paces back and forth across his office. He's been doing this for almost ten minutes, which was annoying and he was also making me dizzy.
I glance over to the clock on the wall. I had rounds to do and he doing this was wasting my time.
After I took a deep sigh, he finally stops pacing and faces me. "Maya..I..." he pauses before approaching me and sitting in the seat across from me.
"Y-you can't just go beating people up. Whether those men were disturbing my hospital or not. That is not how we run things here at Asan. Korea is different from America, okay. You should've waited for the police and security, so that can do there jobs" he tells me.
I look at him. Before scoffing, "you're kidding me,", right?" I ask him.
He remains silent allowing me to continue, "those men... weren't only disturbing the hospital, they were also assaulting one of your employees. Instead of getting angry at me, you should get angry at the damn security who took forever to get down there" I snapped angrily standing out of the chair.
"I'm not upset with you, Maya. I just don't believe that was the most professional thing you should've done"
"Should've done? Those men were seconds away from hitting Aaron, and you think I'm unprofessional for trying to keep your employees and your patients safe?" I asked him.
He stands up understanding my frustration, but still chooses not to say anything. I roll my eyes, running my fingers through my hair trying to control my anger.
"What if they sue us or something?"
Was that what he was worried about? The money? Even after my ex just gave him a 400k check.
"Take it out my paycheck since it such a big deal, the hell I care."
"Maya, I'm being respectful to you, please at least be respectful to me" he tells me.
I sigh, "I understand you are new here, and there's a lot of things you don't understand. But if something like that happens again, I will send you and your team back the states" he threatens me causing to calm my attitude down.
I had forgotten that I wasn't just in Korea for me, I was back here for my team. They were counting on me, and still are....
I exhale, "sorry" I let out.
"I don't think sorry is going to cut it. I mean those men... what's gonna happen if they go tell some reporter they got beaten up at my hospital?" He asks.
I roll my eyes giving in, deciding not to continue to have this conversation with this man.
"Fine. I promise the next time anyone comes into your hospital, disturbing the patients and assaulting the people who make you money, I won't do a thing. I'll wait the police or whoever wants to play superhero that day. Better?" I asked throwing sass before walking to the door.
