Today was judgement day, talk all over the hospital was that the board meeting was going to held to determine whether or not I keep my job. Both Woo-jin and I were under the bus together because we happened to be the two people in charge of performing surgery on the little boy in the VIP section.
But for some reason I was the only one getting held accountable for this shit. Sarah also assisted but it wasn't like I was going to snitch on her for doing her job, besides when it comes to my team, I'll go to war and back for anyone of them.
"W-what do you think is gonna happen? I mean they can't actually fire her, can they?" I hear conversation going on downstairs as I getting ready to leave for work.
"If they do, she has leave the country. Mr. Washington sent us here with a visa to work at the hospital. If she loses her job, she'll lose the visa and have to go back to America."
"S-she can't. What about us?"
"I don't think she has a choice. Think about it.. she's in another country and isn't even a citizen here... if they wanted to kick her out, they could and there isn't anything, anyone us can do that would be able to stop it, unless one of you guys are secretly Korean and also secretly related to Maya, which makes her a Korean as well" I hear Edison say.
"Man this entire thing is stupid. All she was doing was her damn job. What type of hospital cares more about the rules when people's life are at risk. If she hadn't done the surgery on the kid, he would've been dead. If anything, instead of disciplining her, they should be rewarding her. I don't know if you guys have noticed but before any of us got here, this hospital was complete shit! We are here to help yet they treat us like we're doing something wrong!"
The upset voice sounded like Aaron, he obviously was upset but what for.
"Can you lower your voice, Aaron"
"No! I can't be the only one that sees how unfair they treat us just because were aren't like them." He states.
Pause. What exactly is he talking?
"we promised not to talk about that while she's around."
Talk about what?
"She deserves to know..."
I walk down the stairs unexpectedly causing them to act as if they were doing something and as if I hadn't heard their conversation.
"Know what?" I ask crossing my arms.
"H-How'd you sleep? I heard you get in pretty late this morning?" Edison ask before taking a sip of his coffee, trying to change the conversation.
I sigh, looking at them all as they avoid looking at my eyes. "Fine, also I heard the entire conversation. So there's no need to pretend. What was Aaron talking about?" I ask expecting an answer.
But instead they all look around, ignoring my question. I nod, walking into the living where Tracy sat and Aaron stood. My eyes shift over to Sarah who stood near Edison in the kitchen, I swallowed hard.
"I'll say it once more. What is it that I deserve to know?" I ask them all. I watch as Aaron cracks and hesitates causing Tracy to kick him and shake her head. Whatever they weren't telling me must've been bad enough for them to keep it from me.
