Lexi's POV
"Crys?" I called out to my best friend/sister as we were getting dressed for her party.
"Yeah, babe?" she asked. I know it's funny that she calls me babe, but that's just part of who we are. So whoever has a problem will just have to suck it up.
"Are you sure it's gonna be just us tonight?"
"Yeah...pretty sure.." she said, avoiding eye contact.
"Really?? Then why are we getting all dolled up? " I really didn't find the need to get dressed so much if only our group was gonna be there. I mean, a jeans and a top would be just fine. But Crystal here is making me were a dress. A freaking dress! Not to forget the 4-inch high heels.
"Okay...I may have invited a few other people.." she said softly.
"CRYSTAL THEA JAMES!!!!!!"I yelled.
"Ow! Don't shout! Don't worry, I didn't invite him!"she said, trying to calm me down.
"Whew! Thank God! But what if he shows up?" I started panicking.
"Calm down, honey...he won't show up." she said hugging me.
"I hope not. Anyway, we don't have much time left, so lets finish with our makeup." I said.
"I'm doing your makeup too!" she said, more like sang.
"Fine. As long as you make me look pretty." I winked at her.
"Girl...you don't need makeup to look pretty...you look gorgeous without it." she said, blowing me a kiss.
"Says the beauty herself."
After about half an hour, I was ready to rock the party. I stood there, in a white knee-length dress that had pretty designs with tiny silver stones on it. As for the sandals, Crys let me borrow her silver heels for the night.
She stepped out of her ensuite fully dressed. And let me tell you, if I were a guy, I would totally bang her.
"Drew is gonna drool! You look beautiful!" I said, admiring her red floor length dress. I'm not gonna describe it cause if I do, I'm pretty sure all you girls will faint. ;)
I think most of the people were already in Crystal's living room. It was really nice of her parents to leave the house to us. It just shows how much they trust her.
I went down first and told Crys that I'll call her a little later.
The first person to spot me when I went downstairs was Colton. And believe me when I say, he stared with his mouth hanging open.
"Take a picture, lover boy, it'll last longer." I said, winking.
"I just might, princess. You look absolutely beautiful.." he breathed out and leaned in for a kiss.
I did nothing to hide the blush that was covering my cheeks.
"I love you, Lex.." he said as he planted another kiss on my lips.
"I love you.." I breathed out after we pulled away.
"OMG!! You both are so adorable!!" Rayne gushed. "By the way, the others are all waiting for y'all. And where's the birthday girl?" she asked.
"Oh come on! And Crystal will be here in sometime.." I told her."I think I'd better ask her to come now"
"Yeah...you should, party is already in full swing." Colton told me, then planted a kiss on my lips.
"I'll see you in a bit.." I said and then went up to Crystal's room.
"I thought I'd wear the necklace Drew gave me. It goes with the dress so.." she said as soon as I entered.
"Yeah...it looks really pretty. By the way, it's time for you to go down. The living room is full." I told her.
"Let's go!" she said as she held me hand and led me downstairs. Drew was waiting at the bottom of the stairs so that he could lead her into her living room. Quickly I made my way to Colton so that I got to watch as Crys made her grand entry.
----
A few hours into the party, Colton excused himself, saying he had something to do. And minutes later, the music stopped playing. I turned to find Crystal and ask her what was wrong when I heard my name being called. Through the mic. Confused, I looked towards the elevated part of her house, where the piano was placed, and saw Colton standing there with his guitar slung over his shoulder.
"I'm sorry Crystal, I know it's your birthday but I hope you don't mind if I do this.."he said into the mic.
"You know I won't!" she yelled from where she was standing. The entire room had gone silent by now.
"Thanks,"he said, smiling at her,"Lexi?" he called out again. "Lexi Evans, this song is for you.." he said after he spotted me through the crowd. And obviously, I blushed.
He strummed the first few chords of the song before he started singing. And my heart melted when I recognised the song he chose.
Just the way you are by Bruno Mars.
"Oh, her eyes, her eyes
Make the stars look like they're not shinin'
Her hair, her hair
Falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful
And I tell her everyday
YeahI know, I know
When I compliment her she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so
Sad to think that she don't see what I see
But every time she asks me, "Do I look okay?"
I say,When I see your face
There's not a thing that I would change
'Cause you're amazing
Just the way you are
And when you smile
The whole world stops and stares for a while
'Cause, girl, you're amazing
Just the way you are ."He paused to wink at me And then continued with the rest of the song.
'Cause, girl, you're amazing
Just the way you are"He finished smoothly and then said,
"I love you Lexi Evans.."
Everyone was silent but suddenly someone whistled from behind. And that one whistle was enough for everyone to start clapping and cheering. As for me, I couldn't wait till my boyfriend came to me so I went up to him while he was still in front of the mic and kissed him right there. And that just made everyone cheer louder. I bet my cheeks were getting redder by the second, if it was even possible.
All of a sudden, there was one person's clapping that we could.hear distinctly. It was a mocking kind of clap.
"Well, wasn't that just beautiful."
