Chapter 19

Lexi's POV

I was so scared as to how Colton would react that I kept playing with my fingers continuously during the drive back home. He had to go practice with the boys so I called Jake to pick me up.

"Can you please tell me what's bothering you,Lex?"Jake asked me.

"It's uh..nothing."I said, looking down.

He let it slip but not before giving me a look that said 'We'll be talking about this later'. I sighed and looked out the window for the rest of the drive. My mind kept drifting to Colton, then Ryan, and then Colton again. I was in love with that boy...maybe that's why it was so difficult for me to tell him about the...uh...incident.

I got out of the car and into the house as soon as Jake stopped the car. I ran up to my room and splashed some cold water on my face.

"Don't make it such a big deal Lex. He's your boyfriend, he has the right to know, just tell him." I told myself.

"Tell who what?" Jake asked leaning against the door of my bathroom. Ugh..why did I leave it open?!

"Nothing."I said, grabbing a towel and going into my bedroom.

"Lex, you tell me everything. What's wrong?" he asked, concern etched across every part of his face as he came to sit beside me on my bed.

"He kissed me." I said after a while.

"Who?Colton? But he's your boyfriend." he said, clearly confused.

"No. Ryan. Ryan kissed me." I said as the tears started rolling down my cheeks.

Immediately he wrapped his arms around me and started soothing me.

"Shh...it'll be fine."he said softly.

Jake's POV

"Shh...it'll be fine." I said softly, but I could feel the anger building up inside me. I was not going to leave that ba****d alone. It hurt me to see my sister like this.

"You've got to tell him at some point in time." I told her.

"I'll tell him tomorrow." she said, nodding.

"I have to get to work. Should I call Haley or Crystal to keep you company?"

"No I'll be fine. I'll probably just sleep for sometime and then get on with my homework." she told me.

"Okay, but if you need anything, anything at all, just give me a call." I told her, kissed her on the forehead and went out of her room.

I drove to the diner where I worked, I had to cover the night shift today because the guy had some family commitments. Stupid guy.

I just hope everything goes well with Lexi and Colton tomorrow. I can't bear to see my sister hurting. I just can't.

With that thought I entered the diner and started my shift.

Lexi's POV

I was catching a ride with Crystal today for a change. It was going to give me a chance to tell her what had happened before I had to break it to my boyfriend.

I replaced the entire incident to her, sheding a few tears here and there and waited for her response.

"That ass****!!!" She started, " I'm going to kill him!" she yelled.

"Crys...calm down." I told her as we were nearing school.

The first thing I was going to do was talk to Colton. As soon as she parked the car, I got out, ignored the people who were staring, and walked straight to Colton's locker.

"Hey, baby." he said as soon as he saw me, and leaned down to give me a kiss. I didn't even kiss him back properly because of my nervousness.

"What's wrong?" he asked me.

"I had to tell you something remember?"

"Yeah...go ahead." he said taking my hand in his.

Like the last time, as soon as I opened my mouth to speak, I was interrupted.

"What a slut!" one of the cheerleader said. I think her name was Hanna. Whatever.

"Listen, I don't know who you are but you should be thanking God I don't raise my hands on girls because no one gets away after talking to or about my girlfriend in that manner." Colton said, calmly but firmly.

"Oh yeah? I don't think you'd feel the same way after knowing what she did yesterday." She said, smirking."She kissed Ryan."

I felt Colton stiffen next to me.

"Baby...it was--" I tried to explain.

"Is it true?" he asked, not looking at me.

"It was---"

"Did y'all kiss or no?" he asked, looking at me now.

I just nodded because I didn't trust my voice. I already felt the tears forming in my eyes.

He let go of my hand immediately and turned and started walking away.

"Colton!Colton wait!" I called out to him, trying to get him to stop. He turned a deaf ear and continued walking down the hallway.

I couldn't control it anymore. I cried.
