Chapter 13

Lexi's POV

Recap

"Lexi....." he said, like as if he was in pain. My guess was right. It was him. My ex- boyfriend , Ryan.

"What do you want from me?!" I half shouted at him.

He winced at my tone but didn't say anything.

"Tell me! What do you want?!" Could feel the tears spilling out now.

" You. I want to get back with you." he said calmly.

" That can't happen and you know it." I told him before turning around.and walking away, trying to find my way around the crowd that had formed around us. I barely took three steps when I was yanked back.

"I am not done. And you will not walk away until I am." he said so low it sounded like a growl.

"That's not for you to decide." I said and tried to pull my arm free but that just resulted in him slapping me across the face. I would have fallen on the ground if he had not been holding me by my arm. But I could feel something warm dripping from the side of my mouth. Blood. That I was sure of. Before I could do or say anything, I felt myself being pulled away from him and pushed towards my best friends. Black spots were beginning to appear at the corners of my eyes. I looked up to see Colton moving forward to punch him. Punch.

That was enough. I didn't want Colton getting into trouble because of me.

"Make him stop." I said to no one in particular. Drew heard it and went straight to both of them and tried pulling my boyfriend away. But I could tell Colton did not agree to this because as soon as Drew touched him he turned around and told him to get lost. He turned back around and was about to punch Ryan again when Drew shouted,

"Think of Lexi, man! She needs you right now. Go to her!"

I could now feel myself slipping out of consciousness.

" Lexi, baby...I'm here." he cooed in my ear and that was the last thing I heard before my vision went black.

I woke up to the sound of conversation. My eyes were still closed but i could hear everything.

" I still don't understand why she blacked out." I recognised the first voice as the nurses' -- Ms. Janice.

" Maybe she was too stressed? Or was it because of the blow she took.from that--" I could hear the venom in his voice towards the end if that sentence. It was Colton who spoke.

" Probably...but please keep an eye on her just incase it was because of stress." Ms. Janice said.

Before they could continue, I coughed and opened my eyes but immediately had to shut them because of the blinding lights.

Slowly I opened them again-- this time to my boyfriend's handsome face.

" Hey...how are you feeling?" he asked softly.

" Is the bruise on my face bad?" I asked him first.

His jaw hardened but he covered it up pretty quickly."It's not that bad, trust me."

I just nodded. " Ms. Janice?"

"Yes dear?" she replied.

" When can I leave?"

"Um...just wait for a while..I just wanna make sure you're aright , okay?"

"Sure." I said.

After waiting for quite sometime, Colton and I left the infirmary.

"Lex, are you sure you're ok?" he asked worried.

" Yeah..a little shaken up but I'll be fine" I said squeezing his hand. He got his arms around me and locked me in a embrace. We stood like that for a pretty long time and then went to my house in his car.
