Lexi's POV
"Oh you'll see, princess." He said and then winked.
He started driving down an unfamiliar road but this time I didn't bother because I was too excited about the rest of our date.
I turned on the radio to my favourite station and was surprised when Colton started singing along with me to Taylor Swift's 'Shake it Off'.
I turned to him with one eyebrow raised in amusement.
"What? The tune's catchy! I can't help it."
I just laughed and then we continued singing the songs that were playing till he pulled up in front of a building on a partially busy street.
He then came and opened my door and we both walked into the lobby hand in hand. We got into the elevator and he pressed the button for the fifth floor. I wonder what this place has got to do with our date.
Anyway, once the elevator stopped, Colton led the way to the last appartment on the left. He opened the door and gestured for me to enter.
The room was dark when I stepped in but it wasn't long before Colton turned on the lights.
To say that I was awestruck would be an understatement.
"You did all of this?" I turned to look at him.
He was standing there with one of his hands in his pocket while he was rubbing the back of his neck using the other. And I swear I could see a tinge of pink cover his cheeks.
There were roses everywhere. And when I say everywhere, I mean it. Rose petals covered the sofas and the couch and there were beautifully arranged bouquets on all the tables. The lights were dim giving off a very romantic look to the room. I let my eyes take one more look around the entire room and once it came to the corner I felt my eyes widen. There was a piano. A freaking piano. And right next to it was a black acoustic guitar. I wonder how I didn't notice them before.
Slowly, I walked towards the instruments. On the fretboard of the guitar, very intricately written was Colton's name.
"You play the guitar?" I asked him.
"Yeah, kind of " he replied, looking a little nervous.
"What about the piano? You play it too?"
"Well, I just started learning. My mom plays so she offered to teach me."
"Wow. I still can't believe you did all of this for me."
He just smiled and hen picked up his guitar, took my hand and walked over to the couch.
"Do you play?" He asked me after we sat down.
"Me and play? No way." I said laughing.
"Well, you can sing right?"
"Um-" I tried to get out of it but he interrupted me saying,
"Don't try to deny, I've heard you sing."
"But-"
"But nothing. You're singing with me and that's final."
"Fine." I said grumpily but then smiled.
He started playing and I watched him as he got lost in the music.
I think - I think I'm starting to fall for him.
----
"She can't sing,
She can't dance,
But who cares,
She walks like Rihanna."
We finished what seemed like the hundredth song.
"Lexi..." Colton started.
"Hmm?"
"The next song is for you."
And then he started singing 'Somebody to You'd by The Vamps.
I started blushing like crazy, my cheeks turning redder -- if that's even possible -- with every line he sang.
"Look at me now, I'm falling
Can't even talk, still stuttering
This ground of mine keeps shaking
Oh, oh, oh, now!
All I wanna be yeah, all I ever wanna be yeah,
Yeah, is somebody to you
All I wanna be yeah, all I ever wanna be yeah,
Yeah, is somebody to you
Everybody's trying to be a billionaire
But everytime I look at you I just don't care
Cause all I wanna be yeah, all I ever wanna be yeah,
Yeah, is somebody to you."
He finished the song and I was beaming.
He placed the guitar on the sofa and then came to stand in front of me.
He reached into his jeans pocket and pulled out a small box. He went down on one knee and said,
"Lexi Evans, will you be my girlfriend?"
I was beyond happy. With a huge smile on my face I nodded because I didn't trust my voice enough.
Colton opened the box to reveal a beautiful silver bracelet. He then proceeded to clasp it around my wrist and then he stood up and pulled me up to give me a tight hug.
I pulled away and planted a soft kiss on his lips. I have never been happier in my life. This has honestly been the best date ever.
