Everyone was silent but suddenly someone whistled from behind. And that one whistle was enough for everyone to start clapping and cheering. As for me, I couldn't wait till my boyfriend came to me so I went up to him while he was still in front of the mic and kissed him right there. And that just made everyone cheer louder. I bet my cheeks were getting redder by the second, if it was even possible.

All of a sudden, there was one person's clapping that we could.hear distinctly. It was a mocking.kind of clap.

"Well, wasn't that just beautiful?"

Lexi's POV

My heart sank as soon as i heard that all too familiar voice. I felt Colton tensing up beside me and his hold around my waist tightened.

"What the hell are you doing here you asshole?!?!" My best friend shouted as she pushed him with all her strength.

"Crystal, Crystal,"he said disapprovingly, "I wouldn't forget dear Lexi's best friend's birthday now, would I?"

"Get out!" I shouted from where I was.

Ryan just looked at me and laughed. That was enough for Colton to go and punch him hard. Although I would love it if Ryan was beaten up, I didn't want to take a chance with Colton getting into trouble. Ryan's dad was a big shot and of course did everything his son asked him to. He could put Colton behind bars too, and I sure as hell didn't want that happening. So I went over to them and with great difficulty got Colton to stop punching Ryan.

"Aww, so sweet! Little Lexi is concerned about her boyfriend." he said mockingly.

"Shut up, and get out of the house immediately." I said in a low, menacing voice.

"Oh darling, you look anything but intimidating.A little cute actually.." he chuckled.

"Don't call me that!" I shouted as my palm struck his face.

I could see the anger in his eyes after he recovered from the slap. It was a pretty good one, if I say so myself. He raised his hand to hit me and before I knew it, my boyfriend was in front of me, taking slow steps towards Ryan. Even though Colton is about an inch or two shorter than Ryan, he seemed to be towering over him. I placed my hand on his arm, silently praying that he wouldn't hit Ryan again as much as I wanted him to.

"Ryan, please...just get out of here.." I said softly as the tears that I was holding back spilled onto my cheeks.

"Alright, Alright...I'm leaving." he said and turned and walked towards the door. Just before he stepped out, he turned to me and said with an annoying smirk,

"Oh and Lexi, you're father is really looking forward to seeing you.."

My heart dropped as soon as I heard those words come out of his mouth.

"Get the hell out of here!" Colton shouted.

I turned and ran towards the guest room that I could call mine, given the number of times I have stayed over. I locked the room as soon as I was inside and fell to the ground. I was crying and I didn't want anyone seeing how pathetic I am.

"Lexi? Open the door, princess.." I heard Colton's voice say softly from the other side of the door. Before I knew it, I was on my feet and unlocking the door.
