Thanks to the matter with her mother, which was not the first time, but something that always brought her down, Tana found that she was quite reserved and quiet for the following week or so. She did not want to have to explain to anyone what was going on in her mind, the thought and idea that her mother was self centred and only thought about herself most of the time. She did not want to have to explain that for years she had been trying to have a good relationship with her mother, but always found things set it back. It was hard, and it made her emotional and she knew that even talking to her friends about it would not help, considering they knew the relationship that was there and she felt they were sick of hearing about it.

Now though, with days gone by, it was March the twenty first, nothing special, but it was a new day and she was feeling better. She had plans for that day, being a Thursday, she was hopeful that everything would come back together for her after work. At work, she was also keeping to herself, not getting involved with conversations with anyone. Jenny was a pain, and Tana had a sharp email from Mr Smith, the boss, regarding some things, that actually were not true, but she was the one who had the finger pointed at. It had made her sad, and doubt her job and if she even wanted to stay there. She was really starting to see how much it impacted her mood and she did not like that. Yet, those past days, she did her best, to carry on and now the day has come, she was hopeful for a pick me up.

She paid attention to her phone for the first time at lunch and focused on the conversation by text between herself and her best friend, Trish. They had been making plans last night to catch up later and this lightened her mood. It had been a bad morning at work, with another sharp email form the boss about a file of hers, but this was one of those good things in her life she needed to focus on, to think about and bring herself back out of the darkness for. Tana needed the catch up, she needed to talk and this was the one friend she knew that she could be as open as she could be with, and with no judgements. She could trust Trish to be honest with her and she back. Tana had not been able to catch up with Trish for a while, due to each others work commitments, and so this catch up was long over due.

Her best friend Trish, whom she had known for years, had a busy life herself. She was working a lot, and half of the time worked longer hours than the normal. She also had a lot of personal stuff going on with her family and some other friends and so between their schedules and what was going on, it made it very difficult to find the time to catch up. So recalling the messages and rereading the plans to catch up that night, was a good mood lifter.

For the rest of the work day, things were easier then the stressful way the morning started. Quicker and smoother and not so overwhelming. Having other stuff on board also helped with the flow, and took some file pressure off of those there, seeing as they had been short staffed during the morning, due to a couple of staff randomly calling in sick, which was not normal. Tana found she was able to relate more to the staff when they discussed things and she was able to work through files and cases with ease and even bring a bit of spirit to the rest of the team.

When her shift ended, Tana made her way to the train station, catching the rush hour train to a local station, where she parked her vehicle every day, saving money on city parking and petrol. Driving home, she wanted to make herself something small to eat before heading out again and catching up with her friend Trish. She knew they'd be catching up at a place that was more of a sweets bar, so she decided to go light for dinner and have a warm chicken salad, which was actually a common meal for her these days, quick and easy and healthier for her.

Meal prepared, Tana sat down on her three point five seat lounge, long ways, so she was actually facing the glass doors that led to the small yard. There was a dinner table before the doors, but she imagined it was not there this time. She lived on her own, in a small two bedroom villa with a small courtyard to the side of the house, behind a single garage. It was a cute little place to be in and the other four villa's were pretty much all set out the same. Sometimes one could hear those next to them through the walls, but she knew they all respected each other enough to not make a lot of noise. Tana guessed for her, she was lucky she was not much of a partying type, so if she did have people over, it was mainly her girlfriends and it was either a quiet chill or some card games with some laughs, but not a lot of noise. That was.... When her friends had time to come to her place.
