When Tana had woken it was confusion that hit her first, finding herself in a hospital bed yet again. Her mind had been blank as to why. Until she frowned and then it all started coming back. As the flashes of that night hit, she shivered, tears silently slid down her face and she moved her body, even though she felt multiple painful areas when she did. How pulled her knees up to her chest as she sat on the hospital bed in the silent room, hugging her knees and slightly rocking back and forth.
She was not sure how long it was that she had been like that, but eventually Clark had entered the room. While most times he was a closed off reserved man, and did not like to show affection easily, even when he was being a caring person, this time, it seemed that he did not even care and when he saw Tana had awoken and was sitting up on the bed, he moved to her side, sitting on the edge of the bed and put his own arms around her, pulling her into him and holding her tight.
As if she was like a young five year old child, who was afraid of something, she clung to Clark's shirt and could not stop the emotions that spilled out, crying into his chest as he sat with her, rubbing a hand against her back and in her hair to sooth her. It was helpful, to have that comfort, but it still did not rest her nerves to one hundred percent. Tana had fallen asleep again, and when she woke, from a nightmare, Clark was still in the room, but sitting on a chair this time.
When she had woken that second time, Tana could tell that Clark really did not want to put pressure on her to talk about what happened, but he had to find out, as he was putting data together to assist the Bali police. Between Clarks questions and answers and Tana's questions and answers, a whole picture of the situation was formed. It was not a simple matter in fact, and it freaked Tana out to think that while she wanted a simple life, things were not very simple any more. Things were going to need to be changed and a much as she did not like it, there was not much she could do about it.
They came to understand, that the person in the black clothing who had hands around her neck and Jason arrived, had in fact been following and stalking her. They confirmed it was likely somebody who was on the cruise, given the text's she had gotten. They had retrieved data from her phone to confirm this, which did mean they had to hack her phone, but at this point even Tana did not care. If they had not, then they would not have known how deep the stalking had been.
Clark had told her, that he and Chelsea had been working on gathering details from the phone together. After a couple of days, they found that there was a bug in her phone, something very uncommon, but something he had seen once or twice before. It was a bug that could copy and read everything from her phone in real time. It was a bug that hacks and collects all ones data. With that, this bug can then be used on a second device and then that second device acts as a mimic of the first. A complete mimic. It meant the second phone could log into all the originals accounts, and no matter if one changed passwords, the second phone would still have access as the bug makes it as if the second phone has had the password change as well.
The best way to explain this, was that the bug and mimic phones make system accounts believe that the mimic phone if the rightful device. Normally, when one person sets an account, like Facebook or Netflix, up on a device and a second device is used to log in, the person would get a notification to let them know and confirm. Because the mimic device is acting and masked to appear as the rightful devices the system and security of the accounts do not know the difference and that is how the hacking takes place. It gives the person full access to everything. Emails, banks, person accounts, what ever one has on their phone. It means they can see privet messages as they happen. If one was to plan something in text, it is mimicked on the second device and the person with that one sees everything as it takes place. That includes photos and videos taken on the first device, the mimic device will get them automatically. Phone calls, the mimic device can get them too and even pick up during the call without the notice of either of the other phones, meaning the person can listen in.
