When she woke, it took Tana a good five minutes to realise what was going on around her. To remember what had happened the night before and to realise that the sun was up again, and it was clearly a new day. She sat up in the bed, thinking about how it had all started, how she had been emotionally broken, enough to not notice a car speeding towards her. She was sure she remembered that Jason guy advise her the driver had been speeding before she blanked out. Yet, her mind just went back to the fact that Trish had not been there like planned and that it had really upset her. Pulling her knees to her chest, she sat looking towards the light from the window in the room, covered by blinds. She hugged her knees and felt her heart feel heavy with emotion.
"How can somebody forget about you that easily." She questioned to herself out loud.
She let out a sigh, wiping away a lone tear that leaked from the corner of her brown eyes. She was still hurting from the let down and she knew she was going to have let Trish know how much she was hurting her. If Trish meant it or not, it had to be known how it was impacting Tana, to make it a thing they were both aware of and so it could be discussed and sorted, worked on, to better their fading friendship.
Soon enough though, her thoughts drifted, to the person who had saved her from being hit by the car. He had been so cold, and emotionless and did not even let her know whom he was. He had just given her a look and then left her on her own. Tana was not sure how she was meant to thank somebody for their actions, if there was no way of knowing who they were. Furthermore, what about the second guy, the one who she had felt like she recalled the face but had not really. The one who had come to her aid and put her in a car. He had been dominating and in control of what was going on, like he knew what he was doing compared to her who had no clue whatsoever. The last she actually remembered from the night was the car, before everything around her went blank.
That was when a new panic set in. She snapped out of the thoughts she had been in and realised what was actually going on. There was a window, light coming through. She was in a bed and everything around her was tidy and quiet. This was not her home and if there was light, it meant it was day and that meant she was late for work! Tana freaked out, throwing the blankets off of her, noting she was in the same clothes as the night before. Head spinning a little, she looked around, trying to see if she could find a phone or her purse or something. She needed to know what the actual time was. Until she paid more notice the what was around her. A small plain wall clock, some health posters and what looked like a trolly table.
With realisation really hitting her, she realised that this was a hospital room, that she was waking up in a hospital room. Further panic ran through her body, as she swung her legs over the side of the bed, and pushed herself off, standing between the bed and the wall, looking to the door and thinking that was her way out. She did not want to be in a hospital, she did not like hospitals. Tana wanted to leave and quick.
She took a couple of steps forwards and then stumbled a little, at the same time the door to the room she was in came open and Tana noticed two figures enter the room. She did not know the female, who looked like she was a nurse or above. Yet, there he was, that same guy from the night before, the one who put her in a car. It must have been him, he must have bought her here. She was confused and did not know what was going on and her head was spinning a little.
"Oh, you are awake." The female spoke, stating the obvious.
"I need to go, I am late for work." Tana spoke, a little stressed out.She noticed that both the guy and the female gave each other quick looks and then looked back at her. She noticed his raised brow, and the woman's confusion. Letting out a sigh, she shook her head, looking around the room, while she held onto the bed, wondering where her things would be. Though, after a moment, she noticed her purse and phone sitting on a bench on the wall near the window. Yet, as she went to move from the bed again, that same dizzy feeling came over her, stumbling a little, in which yet again, he shifted and was there to hold her up.
