"Noah!" Fred had finally gotten my attention. "What do you think?"
"Think about what, exactly?" I asked him.
"The joke shop. What else would it be about?" He and George laughed.
All summer, anytime Mrs. Weasley had gone shopping, they had asked me if I thought opening a joke shop would be a good idea. Asking me if I wanted to be their partner and if I wanted to be a co-owner.
Of course, I thought it was a good idea. Especially with the twins. I wouldn't think anyone else would be able to open a joke shop and be even half as successful as the twins and I.
"No, three of the best pranksters in the school opening a joke shop after they graduate. That's a terrible idea. Who thought that it would be a good idea." I said sarcastically with a laugh.
"So, you do think it's a good idea," George asked.
"Of course, it's a good idea," I said. We laughed. "Now can I take a nap, in peace?"
"Fine." They said in unison.
I don't know how long I had been asleep, but by the time I woke up we were rounding the corner to the school.
About fifteen minutes later we were walking to the carriages to go to the castle.
It was time for the sorting. I could see Ginny from where I was seated. She looked nervous. I wasn't listening to what was going on around me until I heard the hat shout 'Gryffindor'. I looked up from the table and saw the youngest Weasley approaching the table.
"Congratulations Ginny," I said. She was blushing a brighter red than her hair. I leaned over and whispered to Abby who was sitting next to me. "Who is that?" I asked gesturing to a man sitting at the teacher's table. He had scars across his face and was wearing tattered robes.
"Must be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor." She whispered back to me.
"That makes sense," I said in a volume above a whisper.
"What makes sense?" Ron asked through a mouthful of food.
"Nothing," Abby said.
After about thirty minutes, I think that's how long it was, I wasn't paying attention again, the food on the plates had vanished and Professor Dumbledore had dismissed us for bed.
"So Noah, how did this summer go? Did you confess your love for George?" Abby asked me as soon as we were in our dorm.
"Wait a minute. Did you say, George? As in George Weasley. Since when did Noah fancy George?"
"Good job, Abby!" I said sarcastically while clapping my hands.
"Sorry Noah, I forgot that they didn't know." She said sincerely.
"It's fine, it was a mistake. But you guys cannot tell anyone. Promise?" I said gesturing towards Angelina and Alicia.
"We won't say a word," Alicia said while pressing a finger to her lips signaling her silence.
---------------------"Hey Gin!" I greeted.
"Hey Noah!" She greeted back.
I noticed she was looking at Harry. Again. I leaned over and whispered to her. "Give it time, you just met each other."
After breakfast, I had DADA, with Slytherin, first.
"Good morning class!" The new Professor greeted once we were all seated. "I'm your new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Lupin."
"Good morning Professor Lupin." Most of the class chanted back. Most meaning everyone except for me and the twins.
I was listening to what the twins were talking about. They were planning their next prank. Based off of what I had heard it sounded like a good one.
"In the next few lessons we will be going over Red Caps." Professor Lupin had said. And with that everybody pulled their textbooks out of their bags and turned to the chapter on Red Caps.
"Guys we need to start on our essay for potions." I heard Hermione say to Ron and Harry.
"An essay already?" I asked her.
"Yeah. I'm sure that if the Gryffindors weren't in that class today, there wouldn't be one." Ron said. He didn't seem happy.
"Harry?" I asked getting his attention. "By any chance do you know the new DADA teacher? He looks to be the around the same age as Sirius."
"Yeah. Remus and Sirius went to school together. Sirius told me that he, Remus, and my dad were bestfriends in school. He comes over often to visit us." He told me.
"Oh okay. Well good luck with that potions essay." I said waving to them on the way up to the twins' dorm so we could plan that prank that they were talking about.
When I got up to their dorm I could hear them talking.
"You have to tell her mate." That was Fred.
"Tell her what exactly?" George asked him. At this point they were practically yelling.
"Tell Noah you fancy her. If you don't now, you'll never get another chance." Fred answered.
"Are you stupid? You know that I cannot tell her, and neither can you. If I do we may never be able to be friends again. She doesn't fancy me anyway. So what's the point?" George sounded upset.
Is wasn't mad upset, he sounded sad.
I was ecstatic. But I was also kind of sad. I knew he wasn't going to tell me himself and I knew that he couldn't know I felt the same way about him. It's like he said it would ruin our friendship.
So, naturally, like any other upset teenage girl, I ran to my room and buried my face into my pillow and cried. I didn't even know why I was crying, but I couldn't stop. I ended up crying my self to sleep.
Abby had come up not long after I was already asleep to see where I had gone but she left as soon as she saw me.
-------------------
George's POV:"Are you stupid? You know that I cannot tell her, and neither can you. If I do we may never be able to friends again. She doesn't fancy me anyway. So what's the point?" I was upset. I was sad. But I was mad too. Mad at the fact that Fred and I have had this conversation almost every night since I told him I fancied Noah.
"How do you know that George? She could surprise you." He said.
It was at that moment that I saw a shadow underneath the door and who ever the shadow belonged to was leaving and leaving fast. Then I remember that Noah was supposed to meet us up here at eight o'clock.
"Can you shut up now?! I don't know if I was the only one of us that remembered, but Noah was supposed to meet us up here at 8 o'clock. And if you didn't noticed it's 8:05 and I just saw someone's shadow under the door and then saw them runoff!" I yelled. "You don't know who that could've been. It could've been that Aiden kid, you know the one who is known for gossiping. Or it could've been Noah! I'm going to sleep now and I would really appreciate it if you left me alone!" I yelled as I was closing the curtains around my bed.
I hated being mad at Fred but I was tired of having this conversation.
I drifted off to sleep not long after that, but my dreams were filled with her face. And then I heard something. Heard myself telling her that I fancied her. Heard her laughing in my face. Saw her leaving still laughing at me. And then I woke up.
My dream was the exact reason why I couldn't tell her. I knew that was the way she would've reacted if I did.

A/N: I know that the whole professor thing doesn't line up with the events that happened throughout the series, but I really didn't want Lockhart to be in my book at all.Anyways hope you're enjoying the book so far. And please give me suggestions on what you want to happen next. :)
