I woke up on Monday morning. George was sleeping next to me, his back facing me. I leaned over his body and looked at his face, he looked so peaceful. I decided not to wake him up. I scooted to the end of the bed and carefully got up. I got dressed in a white sundress that was easy to take on and off. I skipped down the stairs and went into the kitchen. Molly, Ginny, and Hermione were already there.
"Morning, guys!"
"Good morning, Noah!" They all said in unison.
"Are you excited? I'm sure you've been waiting for this day since you were a little girl," Molly said from her place at the table.
"Yes, of course. Thank you for doing this for me, Molly."
"Of course, dear. You are going to be my daughter-in-law. As soon as I get breakfast on the table, for those boys, we can leave."
"Okay, we're going to Diagon Alley, right?"
"Yes, dear."
"Great! I need to make a pit stop at Gringotts to get some money for our shopping today." Molly finished making breakfast and we left through the floo network. We arrived in Diagon Alley and we made a beeline for Gringotts Wizarding Bank. I went inside and gave my key to one of the goblins that worked there. He showed me to the vault, which contained my wedding fund. I pulled out a little satchel, which had an Undetectable Extension Charm on it, and began filling it with Galleons. After I felt I had enough I left the bank and went back outside to Molly and the girls.
We made our way to the only wedding boutique in Diagon Alley. We walked inside and a sales associate walked our way.
"Hello, ladies. How may I help you?"
"We are looking for a wedding dress and possibly some bridesmaid's dresses, as well," Molly spoke to the woman.
"Who's the lucky bride-to-be?"
"I am," I spoke up.
"Oh, you are beautiful. I think I have the perfect dress for you." The sales associate went to the back and pulled a dress from the rack. She came back and gestured for us to follow her. We went to this area that had a couch and end tables and a little circle riser in the middle of the room.
"You guys take a seat and I'm going to take you to try on this dress." I followed her to the dressing room. The lady helped me into the dress. It was beautiful, sure, but it wasn't what I wanted. It was bright white and had a deep v-cut neckline and a slit going way up my thigh.
"I don't know?"
"Well let's go and show your mom and friends and see what they think." I didn't even care that she called Molly my mom. We walked out of the dressing room, I went onto the riser, and I turned around to show the girls.
"I don't like it," Ginny said, being brutally honest as always.
"Thank, Merlin! I hate it!" I told her. "Can we try something else? Maybe something with a corset style top and thin straps, no slit up the dress, more ivory than bright white, and flowers embroidered on it?"
"I think I have just the dress." She went back to the racks and picked another dress. We went back to the dressing room and she helped me into the second dress. I hadn't even seen it yet, but I knew it was the one. I walked out of the dressing room and onto the riser, before turning around and looking in the mirror that was now in front of me.
I started to tear up, it was exactly how I imagined it. Perfect, only two dresses and I had already picked my dress. "What do you think?"
"It's beautiful."
"It's perfect."
"You look amazing." I heard all three voices at once.
"I'll take it," I told the woman next to me.
"Great! And I do believe you were interested in some bridesmaid's dresses?"
"Yes, it was this green color right?" Molly asked me.
"Yes. Girls find the ones you like. As long as they're long, not shiny, and that color, I'm sure I'll love them."
"We have a selection of different styles in just that color. I'll be over to help as soon as I help the bride-to-be out of her dress." We walked back to the dressing room and I got back into my sundress. "When are you getting married?" The woman asked me.
"Next August."
"A summer wedding. So, how long have you been engaged?"
"Since, Friday."
"Usually brides aren't in here until they've been engaged a couple of months. What's the rush?"
"I just want to marry him. If we weren't still going to school, we probably would have done this sooner."
"Still in school?"
"Yeah, it's our last year. That woman out there isn't my mom, she's his. My mother didn't want to be here today. She isn't happy that I'm engaged."
"Why not?"
"She grew up, hating the Weasley family and the Prewett family. So both parents of my fiancé. She doesn't want me to marry into their family. But I told her if she can't support me, then I don't want her in my life."
"But she's your mother?"
"Molly has been more of a mother to me than mine has ever been."
"That sounds horrible."
"Not really I'm used to it." We left the dressing room and went to the back of the boutique where the girls were picking out their dresses.
"Oh, Noah, you're back. What do you think?"
"That's perfect, Hermione. Try it on." The girl went to the dressing room and tried on the dress. When she came out of the dressing room, I gasped. She looked beautiful. It was a dusty sage color, with a halter neck. Next was Ginny's. It was the same color and had a v-cut neckline, and it too was sleeveless, but it had thicker straps. We each picked out our shoes, paid, made an appointment for a fitting, and left.
We had been in the shop for about three hours and we were all starving. We got back to the Burrow as quickly as possible. When we got there, the boys were at the table each of them eating a sandwich.
"Hey, you're back!" George said excitedly. He set his sandwich on his plate, got up, and hugged me. "I missed you."
"I missed you too," I said before kissing him.
"How'd dress shopping go?" Ron asked.
"It went great! All three of us got our dresses." Hermione squealed. She loves weddings. I ate my lunch and went back to talking about wedding plans with Molly and George. We talked about caterers and florists. We were going to go back to Diagon Alley next week with George to decide on a cake and make sure the baker is available for our wedding date. We talked until dinner. After dinner, George played Exploding Snap with Fred and I read a book on the couch.
I didn't realize that I had fallen asleep on the sofa until George woke me up.
"Noah, darling, let's go to bed."
"Okay," I said groggily. I slowly got up from the couch and made my way up the stairs to my room, with George following behind me. I slipped into one of his t-shirts and got into bed. He got into bed next to me after putting on some pajamas. We didn't say anything, we just fell asleep in each other's arms.
