Hero's POV

"Hero, you better get your ass in here right fucking now" I heard, Jo screaming at the top of her lungs as I stood by the pan about to start whipping up the pancakes I knew she was craving more than ever.

"Good luck champ" Hallie said, my eyes meeting the two other women in the apartment, each of them giving me a look that practically screamed you are fucked.

"Yes love" I spoke tiptoeing towards the bedroom being as careful as physically possible with my words considering the emotional roller coaster she had been on lately. Even though it did my fucking skull in, I couldn't possibly be more grateful to be on the receiving end. Being here, having the ability to watch the incredible woman grow our son, made every single hormonal outburst well and truly worth it.

"Do I look like I have all day?" she screamed again as she urged me to speed up, more than likely noticing my slow pace as I prepared myself for whatever she was about to say to me.

"I don't know love, I can't see you" I laughed poking my head around the corner finally to see her stood by the mirror, an amused expression remaining completely out of sight.

"Please get this off me" she pleaded, her tone quickly changing as her arm reached back trying to unzip the dress she'd fell asleep in last night. As she continued to struggle, I couldn't help but let my eyes scan over her, each second passing by making me question how I got so fucking lucky.

"Shit sorry" I quickly replied as her reflection store back at me, anger clearly taking complete control of her eyes as she gave me a look that I was almost certain could kill. With no other questions asked, I unzipped the dress she was most desperate to escape from hearing a breath of relief in response.

"Thank you" she started, her legs moving directly towards her closet as she picked out an outfit which I could only guess would be what she was wearing today, "Now if you will excuse me, I'll be taking a nice long shower"

"Mind if I-" I spoke, only to be cut off by a door being slammed right in my face. Before I had even the slightest opportunity to speak again, the sound of my phone signaling Jamie was calling had me walking over to the bed placed in the center of the room sliding the screen.

"Hero, it's great to finally hear from you" she spoke, sarcasm radiating from her every word.

"Jamie, look I know I haven't been in contact with you but a lot of shit has happened an-" I started, ready to give her reasoning behind the disappearing act I had thrown.

"I hear you're going to be a dad" she interrupted me, her voice sounding proud as if I hadn't just ignored her for weeks on end without so much as a phone call.

"Oh yeah? where did you hear that?" I asked, wondering how the fuck she got to know and who else found out about our son. Fuck does it feel good to say that. Our son, our little boy.

"Well since you didn't pick up one of the 127 phone calls, voice mails, or texts I sent you, I thought it was best to call your mum. You know, check my client hadn't just died or anything" she responded, instantly calming my nerves around the idea of the tabloids getting hold of the information and giving me flashbacks to the time I'd told my family the news about my own growing one.

Flashback

"Hi mum, how are you?" I spoke, finally answering the facetime call after weeks of only sending the odd text to assure my family I hadn't mysteriously suffered a brain injury and forgotten all about their existence.

"Don't 'how are you' me Hero, where on this earth have you bloody been" she responded, her eyes bearing into me showing no signs of backing down from her current stance.

"I've been very busy mum" I started, being interrupted by the most beautiful sight of Jo walking out from the bedroom after her second nap of the day, her hand rubbing circles over her bump as she suddenly became very attentive to the conversation I was having, "Sorry mum, give me one minute"

"Did you just put yourself on mute Fiennes Tiffin?" Jo asked as I raised my eyes from the screen after checking several times that I'd in fact stopped my mum from hearing my voice, "because last time I checked, that was very rude" she continued, a smug grin taking over her features as she moved her hand to her back.

"I wanted to ask you if it was okay if-" I began only to be cut off seconds later.

"Of course it is you dork, you don't have to ask to tell your family about our son Hero" she answered the question I never got to finish, her smile reminding me of why it was so easy to fall in love with this girl, "now hurry up and unmute your mum before I do"

Looking back down at the camera, I quickly tapped the button before speaking up, "sorry mum I'm back, can you go get dad and Merc, I have something I've got to tell you"

"Never mute me again Hero Fiennes Tiffin, I don't care if your 22, you are not too old to be grounded. But yes, I will go get them" she stated, forcing Jo to hold her hand over her mouth as she tried desperately not to laugh.

"I'll keep that in mind" I replied, letting out a laugh of my own earning a glare in response as the rest of my family currently living at home made their way into frame.

"What's so important that you had to call a virtual family meeting then big brother?" Merc asked, cutting off both our parent's attempts to speak up.

"Well, before you say anything, I know this is going to come as a bit of a surprise because trust me when I say it was for me too, but we are over the fucking moon and I honestly hope you guys are too-"

"Hero just bloody say it" Mercy spoke up again, earning scowls of the other two people listening in on the conversation whilst prompting me to finally announce the news I knew they were least expecting, "Jo's pregnant, we're having a baby"

"What did you just say Hero, because it sounds like you just said I'm about to become a grandmother and I really don't want to cry if I misheard the fact my baby is having a baby" my mum spoke after minutes of silence as I looked towards Jo with tears in my own eyes, reflecting the state of the woman who had been the most incredible parent I could ever have wished for.

"I promise you're not wrong to cry" I replied with the proudest look on my face, Jo standing up signaling for me to flip the camera as she moved the baggy shirt she was wearing to perfectly shape her bump, the screams coming seconds later being signal they'd all got to see.

"Oh my gosh, I'm going to be an aunty" Mercy cried along with my parents, each trying to move closer to the camera to gain sight of the most beautiful vision on this whole fucking planet, my child growing in Jo's belly.

After several hours of questions to both Jo and me and enough screams to burst eardrums, I came off the phone feeling like the proudest fucking father to be on this planet. If I could, I would freeze this moment. Forget the feeling after football matches, this, right this very second, is the exact feeling I wanted to spend the rest of my life living.

End of flashback

"Hero, are you listening?" Jamie asked, completely breaking me out of my trance and forcing me back to reality.

"Shit sorry, what was that?" I asked, having no fucking clue around whatever she'd just come out with.

"I said congratulations Hero, I'm so happy for you. I just know you and Jo will be incredible parents" she spoke, causing a grin to appear on my face as I thought about the future, seeing Jo holding our little boy in her arms would be a sight I would never get over.

"She will be"

"You both will, being a parent is the best feeling in this world" she started before briskly moving the topic on, "as much as I want to hear more, I have something I need to talk to you about first"

"Go on," I said with a smile still plastered on my face, nothing having the ability to remove its presence.

"It's about that number you sent me" she responded, my eyes instantly flashing towards the screen as I looked down in horror.

Oh shit, I was very much wrong
