As two weeks after my provoked words sent the man I loved packing passed, my world only seemed to be getting worse as my stomach continued replicating my hearts broken state.

Ever since the day Anna comforted my ruined soul, each morning started with bile rising in my throat before the lunch id barely been able to stomach in the previous daylight hours emptied itself into the bowl.

For this exact reason, it was no surprise when my lips grazed the toilet as soon as my eyes flickered open this morning.

As it rapidly started becoming part of my morning routine, my frame began feeling the repercussions as any slight movements killed both my outer and inner body.

My days of prolonged standing were over, my activities focussed around cozying up to the scented pillow that calmed my stomach or watching a movie which forced even more tears to stride down my face.

Wiping my lips with the towel id becomes so accustomed to as my sickness progressed, I steadily gripped the lid of toilet before taking the usual steps to rid my mouth of the vile taste.

Exiting the bathroom, my eyes widened at the sight of the individual standing with arms crossed staring straight into my eyes.

'Hallie, what the fuck, you scared the shit out of me' I gasped clutching to my chest as the usual steady drum of my heart accelerated its paste at the image of my roommate.

'Yeah hello to you to Jo, so glad to see you Jo' she announced sarcastically as she strolled in with the bags I'd failed to even recognize upon her unexpected arrival, kicking her feet onto the couch without a second glance my way.

'I thought you were staying in Georgia until all this shit was over Hallie. I literally spoke to you two days ago and you said you were staying their' I spoke back to her previous remark as I sat down on the chair opposite.

'I just thought it would be best for me to come back is all. Aren't you happy to see me, Jojo?'

I knew her first set of words were aimed at the events I had told her about only days ago. With each detail from my broken heart to my turned stomach, her concern was evident through the speakers as her usual mocking tone turned serious.

'You didn't have to come back to babysit me Hal' I paused before answering her sardonic question, 'but yes i have missed you'.

Ever since I first started coming out to California, Hallie and I had been attached at the hip. After meeting at an acting class following an ad we'd both seen online, we'd spent the entirety of our free time doing whatever the hell came to our minds.

As soon as I realized how badly I needed an apartment, it seemed only natural that she would take over half of the space.

'Right, chop chop I needed you changed' she interrupted as her feet moved from above the triangular pillow down towards the ground.

'And whys that, have you looked around recently Hallie? We can't just go prancing around outside in case you haven't noticed and plus, my insides aren't up for any of your suggestions'. I announced staying in my position gripping the lower region of my torso.

'Exactly' she started pulling me up from my sitting position, 'I booked you an appointment at the doctor's office so hurry up' she spoke nonchalantly.

'What do you mean you booked me an appointment, why the fuck would you go and do that? I have a stomach bug Hallie I'm not dying'

'Jo your hardly ever sick, you need to go and get checked out. Now go shower, you smell bad' she said practically forcing me into the room id left only minutes ago.
