Misti Ryell was confused as she suddenly dropped into what looked like a war zone. Buildings were collapsed around her and a huge snake was bleeding profusely only a few feet away from where she had fallen. One minute she was running, the next the ground opened up beneath her and she was falling only to land where she found herself. She saw a man with white hair fighting a woman who was doing things that her mind could not even fathom. She turned her head to the right and gasped as she saw a familiar face.
"Sarah? Is that you?"
She had heard she had drowned saving a kid. They had not seen each other for a few years since she had left overseas on her mission trip. They had been best friends since they were eight and her death had shaken her bad enough that she had to take a month off to reset herself. In that time, she had worked out excessively and had to realign herself as her faith had been a bit shaken by the passing. Yet there was no mistaking that it was Sarah beside her. Her green eyes widened as she saw that she was bleeding profusely and was badly injured.
"Holy crap, you're bleeding!" She looked around, "Someone help!"
Misti moved quickly to Sarah's side and checked for a pulse. She could feel it but not very well. She started administering CPR immediately, blowing air into her as she had stopped breathing. "Don't you do this Sarah! Lord help me!" She suddenly started breathing again and she then turned her focus to the wound that was bleeding. She ripped off part of her shirt and then pressed hard against the wound to her abdomen. "I need help now!" She yelled again for anyone that could hear her.
She looked up as a man dropped down next to them. He was wearing a green jumpsuit and had a black bowl cut with bushy brows. He looked almost like Bruce Lee when he was young and that intrigued her for a moment before she yelled at him, "Well don't just stand there, help me! She's bleeding out!"
"Right!" The man said with a flash of pearly whites that was almost blinding. He leaned down and scooped Sarah up into his arms. "Try to keep up, the hospital is a bit away from here."
"Don't worry about me, I'm a runner!" She shot back at him as they started running in the opposite direction.
Misti had no problem keeping up with the man and could have easily lapped him but she had to stay beside him because she did not know where they were running to. As she glanced past the buildings that were not damaged, it reminded her a lot of some of the smaller cities in Japan she had visited a number of years past.
"Your vitality is impressive," the man said as he looked over at her. "Not many can keep up with me."
Misti rolled her eyes, not at all impressed. "Tell you what, you and I will have a race later to see which of us is truly faster!"
"A challenge, eh?" He flashed a brilliant smile, "I like your gumption! It's a challenge!"
They reached what she assumed was a hospital in no time and she watched helplessly as Sarah was carried away. The halls were filled with various people that were severely injured. She was not shaken by this as she had seen many such places in her journeys. She looked at the man that had helped her.
"Thank you. I'm Misti Ryell and you are?"
"The Blue Beast of the Leaf, Might Guy."
Misti laughed at the name, "Is that how you always introduce yourself? We need to work on that. Your name is really Might?"
Might Guy threw his head back and laughed loudly. She grinned at the sound. She had always liked someone who laughed without restraint.
"My friends just call me Guy."
