Jenny was on the doorstep, leaning on the doorbell with her forehead when I got home. I laughed and climbed out of my car. Jen looked over, but she didn't smile. This was absurd from her; she seemed like such a happy person when I met her.

"Hey... You okay, bro?"

She handed me a white paper. I slowly took it from her hands, scanning over it. When found... Leading to court case... Neither parent has custody over Jennifer Izumi Hamada, resulting her in going into the nearest orphanage. Slowly my mouth went more and more ajar. Jenny stood there, on the verge of crying.

"Come here, baby,"I whispered, and she hugged me. Tears rolled onto the back of my shirt. I ran through her hair. "You're gonna be okay,"I whisper.

"No I'm not!"Jenny cried between sobs.

"Shh..." I tried to calm her down. She stood there in my arms for quite some time before Emma opened the door.

"Everything okay out here?"she whispered.

I held out a finger. Emma slowly closed the door. There were so many questions I had to ask myself. Would I really be willing to take care of another person? I knew it was what my heart was telling me, but my head was saying no. You can't afford to take care of her. She's an average teenage girl. You know how bad that can be. I bit my lip.

"You'll be okay,"I whispered. Being told that you're being sent to an orphanage is probably hard.

Jenny just held onto me."I don't know what I'm gonna do..."

"We can talk. C'mon. Inside we go."

I held onto her hand as we walked inside. Angel was holding onto her favorite unicow plush that we'd gotten from a friend. She stood on top of the stairs. Emma peered in from the kitchen. They followed Jenny and I. Angel passed Jenny her plush, and then she sat down next to Jen.

"I'll talk to them. You can't be sent to an orphanage. Besides, there isn't one anywhere around Boston, or at least to my extent of knowledge."

Jenny was silent.

I looked over at Emma, who I knew got my message. She nodded and said,"There's a very kind foster family I know. He's one of the designers at my work."

"Would I be able to see you guys?"

"You'll have to go to school after summer ends, but you can visit us as much as you'd like,"Emma replied.

"Like a sister?"Angel asked excitedly.

"Like a sister,"I said, smiling.

"Jen, I gotta take Angel to a drawing lesson now, so I'm gonna ask you to leave."

Jenny looked down."Okay. I hope I get to see you tomorrow."

"Call me when you get up,"Emma commented.

"Okay,"Jenny whispered as she closed the door. Immediately, I got a notification from deviantArt. It was a new drawing from Miyoko. I saw Jenny, Angel, Emma, and I. We were all sitting on the couch, appearing to be talking.

Underneath, the caption said, 'I hope you do what your heart is telling you.'
