//The next day//
I opened my eyes to see that I was in the living room of Deimitri's house. I must've fallen asleep here after all that crying... and anger.
Oh if only I could march to 303 and the Red Legion's base, stab the life out of that monster, and not have any major reproductions for doing so! Notch I would take that opportunity in two seconds flat. However, that would start a whole war, and we don't really want that to happen. If anything, that whole meeting is us trying to prevent war.
I run my fingers through my oily and tangly hair. "Dang I need a shower."
With a quick sigh, I get up from the couch, and to my bag to get a change of clothes. It was still quite early in the morning, so I decided to get some pajamas. It's not often I can wear more comfy clothes anymore, so I'm going to take this chance. Speaking of which, I can't seem to do normal stuff, like shower, have a decent sleep schedule, or eat normally. I guess I need to work out a better schedule like everyone else did.
After my quick shower, I was feeling rather tired again. So, I was heading back downstairs, to get my blanket, then go up to the girls room to sleep. However, when I got to the living room, I heard crying, coming from the kitchen/dining area. I quietly walk in to see Ceris sitting at the island crying. She had head lying in one of her arms, the other holding a photograph.
Wanting to help, I sit down next to her and tap her on the shoulder. She flinched before looking at me. When Ceris saw me, her eyes softened, and she sighed relieved.
"It's just you."
"Ceris? What's wrong?" I ask, giving her a tissue box to dry her tears.
She takes of her black mask, and blots the tears off her face. "I-It's nothing Amelia. Go back to sleep hun." She said.
Not believing her, I look at the photograph. It was a picture of Lady Ceris and Lady Abigail, along with their daughter. Olivia looked to be a little over one years old at the time the photo was taken. I then remembered Abigail is still yet to wake up.
"You are missing Abigail. Am I right?" I ask.
Her eyes widen, "How did you-?"
I laugh a big drily, "I'm young, but I've worn that same face many times in recent events."
She returned the laugh. "Right, I forgot a bit..."
"Do you want to talk about it? Maybe it'll help you feel a bit better." I say.
Ceris paused before she sighed, "Of corse I miss her... but... today I'm missing her more."
"Is there any reason why?" I ask, and she nodded.
"Today, is the three year mark when Olivia finally was able to come home with us." She paused, "When Abby found her, I could tell she wanted to straight up adopt her right then and there. However, we both did the right thing, and went to go see for anyone missing a few moth old child."
"Really? Did anyone try to claim her as their kid?"
She shook her head, "No one did. But then, after a while, and a lot of decision making, and paperwork, background checks. But then eventually... we were finally able to take her home with us. It was one of the best days of our lives. Normally Abby and I would try to get off of work a bit early, and try to spend some more time with her. But now, not only will I not be there, but neither will Abby be there." She said.
I gave Ceris a hug as she started sobbing again. Olivia meant so much to her parents, and the two of them always wanted her to have the best childhood she could. Especially Ceris.
"Hey Ceris? If it means so much to you, you should stay here. Surely I can find someone else to go-"
"No." She said. "Yes, it'll pain me to leave her... however, I need to be there. I have experience in making allies out of enemies. Even with the pig king. I know I need to be there to help you and our kingdoms."
I sigh, and look at her in the eyes. "If you feel like you need to... I'm not stopping you. However, I do suggest trying to do something with her before we leave. Maybe visit Abigail?" I suggest.
She smiled, "That's a good idea! I might try to before we go... thank you, Lady Amelia. Now, go get some rest... you look exhausted."
Nodding, I give her back her photo and start heading to the staircase.
"Wait..." Ceris started. I stop and turn around. "Rest well. We have a long day tomorrow."
I smile tiredly, "You rest up too. Goodnight!" I say, walking upstairs, and to sleep.
