"I did not like your smell when I first saw you," I giggled when I remembered the moment I first laid my eyes on you.
We knew each other before only on the internet. I started liking you back then because I admire your dedication and passion to whatever goal you set your mind into.
You were your team's captain. On the day of your grandfinals, I was eager to see you. To finally meet you in person. And face you. Eye to eye.
Even when I was losing my cool beside you after you won that season.
"What? Did I smell bad?" you asked as you sniffed the inside of your shirt. "Do I still?"
I shook my head and chuckled as you try to look funny, "I don't know. Maybe, it was your sweat. Or your jersey... your cologne... or the scent people around left on you."
A smile crept across your face as you reach for my hand and intertwined my fingers with yours.
"Then why did you still like me after that day? I never felt as if you lost interest,"
"'Uh, 'cause you don't smell bad most days?" I joked as usual, earning a heartily laugh from your end. I squeezed your hand and smiled back at you as we lost deep into each other's eyes. "I cannot tell you I like you and only see the good things in you. I acknowledge your flaws. I have accepted that even though we're tying to be better, we are still flawed. My love for you illuminates the illusion of itself for it is true."
